Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat siswa sekolah dasar terhadap pembelajaran seni musik, khususnya angklung, yang terlihat dari sikap pasif dan kurangnya keterlibatan dalam proses belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan minat belajar siswa melalui penerapan metode Hand Sign. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian yaitu 30 siswa kelas V SD Negeri Hegar Banyurasa. Instrumen penelitian meliputi angket minat belajar, lembar observasi, serta penilaian keterampilan guru menggunakan APKG I dan APKG II. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan minat belajar siswa setelah diterapkan metode Hand Sign. Pada pra tindakan, seluruh siswa (100%) berada pada kategori rendah dengan rata-rata skor 36,13. Setelah Siklus I, minat belajar meningkat dengan 2 siswa (6,7%) kategori sedang rendah, 15 siswa (50,0%) kategori tinggi, dan 13 siswa (43,3%) kategori sangat tinggi dengan rata-rata skor 81,05. Pada Siklus II, terjadi peningkatan lebih lanjut dengan 9 siswa (30,0%) kategori tinggi dan 21 siswa (70,0%) kategori sangat tinggi dengan rata-rata skor 85,29.Dengan demikian, penerapan metode Hand Sign terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar angklung siswa sekaligus menjadi strategi alternatif pembelajaran seni musik yang interaktif, menyenangkan, dan mendukung pelestarian budaya lokal. This research is motivated by the low interest of elementary school students in learning music arts, especially angklung, which is seen from their passive attitude and lack of involvement in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to increase students' interest in learning through the application of the Hand Sign method. The method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Kemmis and McTaggart which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 30 fifth grade students of Hegar Banyurasa Elementary School. The research instruments included a learning interest questionnaire, observation sheets, and teacher skill assessment using APKG I and APKG II. The results showed an increase in students' interest in learning after the Hand Sign method was implemented. In the pre-action, all students (100%) were in the low category with an average score of 36.13. After Cycle I, learning interest increased with 2 students (6.7%) in the medium-low category, 15 students (50.0%) in the high category, and 13 students (43.3%) in the very high category with an average score of 81.05. In Cycle II, there was a further increase with 9 students (30.0%) in the high category and 21 students (70.0%) in the very high category with an average score of 85.29. Thus, the application of the Hand Sign method has proven effective in increasing students' interest in learning angklung as well as being an alternative strategy for learning music arts that is interactive, fun, and supports the preservation of local culture.
