Abstract
Motif berprestasi merupakan dorongan dari dalam diri untuk melakukan suatu kompetisi dalam mencapai prestasi dengan standar keunggulan tertentu. Motif berprestasi sangat diperlukan dalam proses belajar. Keberhasilan akademis sangat dipengaruhi oleh motif berprestasi yang dimiliki siswa. Siswa yang memiliki motif berprestasi akan bertahan dalam belajar, dan siswa yang tidak memiliki motif berprestasi akan terhambat dalam proses belajar serta tidak dapat mencapai prestasi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran motif berprestasi siswa yang dijadikan landasan dalam pengembangan program achievement motivation training. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak (random sampling). Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Bandung tahun ajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 183 siswa dari 305 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) secara umum motif berprestasi siswa berada pada kategori sedang, yaitu sebanyak 69,40% dari jumlah sampel, 2) siswa memiliki kebutuhan memperoleh hasil, melakukan kegiatan dalam memperoleh hasil, memiliki intensitas rendah terhadap pencapaian tujuan, memiliki kecenderungan berpikir cara menghindari kegagalan dengan berpikir tentang jaminan atau keamanan, dapat mengatasi hambatan dalam diri, dapat mengatasi hambatan dari luar diri, memiliki kepuasan terhadap hasil yang dicapai, memiliki perasaan negatif ketika melakukan usaha mencapai tujuan, mampu memanfaatkan dorongan yang mengarahkan kegiatan, dan memiliki intensitas dengan keinginan minimal untuk mencapai hasil. Rekomendasi penelitian sebagai berikut: 1) bagi guru BK berupa program hipotetik achievement motivation training untuk meningkatkan motif berprestasi, 2) bagi peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan dapat melakukan uji coba program achievement motivation training untuk meningkatkan motif berprestasi siswa. Kata Kunci: Motif Berprestasi, Program Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) An achievement motive is an inner urge to compete in order to achieve a feat with a certain standard of excellence. An achievement motive is indispensable in the learning process. Academic success is strongly influenced by the achievement motive of the students. Students who have the achievement motive will persist in their learning, and those who do not, will be inhibited in the learning process and cannot achieve their feats. This study was aimed at describing students’ achievement motive that were used as a basis in the development of achievement motivation training program. This study employed a descriptive method. Sample of this study was taken randomly (random sampling). The samples were 183 eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Bandung year 2014/2015, from the total of 305 students. The results showed that: 1) generally, the students’ achievement motive was in the middle category, 69.40% of the total sample, 2) the students stated a need for achievement, did instrumental activities with various outcomes, had a low intensity of achieving objectives, had a tendency to think of how to avoid failure by thinking about collateral or security, were able overcome obstacles in their inner selves, were able overcome the resistance of their outer selves, had the satisfaction of the results achieved, had negative feelings when attempting to achieve goals, were able to take advantage of the nurturant press, and had the intensity with minimal desire to achieve results. It was then recommended that guidance and counseling teachers use a hypothetical achievement motivation training program to increase the students’ achievement motive. For future researchers, it is expected that they employ trials on an achievement motivation training program to improve students’ achievement motive.
