    Abstract

    Sampah elektronik (e-waste) merupakan limbah dengan pertumbuhan tercepat di dunia yang mengandung logam bernilai tinggi seperti logam perak (Ag). Printed Circuit Board (PCB) merupakan komponen utama e-waste yang mengandung logam perak. Pemulihan logam perak dari limbah PCB menggunakan metode pirometalurgi dan hidrometalurgi menimbulkan dampak yang tidak baik terhadap lingkungan. Metode yang lebih ramah lingkungan yaitu penggunaan DES dengan pengembangan metode yaitu penggunaan TDES. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mensintesis TDES berbasis kolin klorida-gliserol-asam malat serta menguji efektivitasnya dalam pelindian logam perak dari limbah PCB. Sintesis dilakukan dengan variasi rasio molar (1:2:1, 1:2:2, 1:2:3) pada suhu 80℃ selama 2 jam. Karakterisasi dilakukan dengan uji viskositas, pH, kelarutan, FTIR, dan DSC. Pelindian perak dilakukan dengan variasi suhu (60–140℃), waktu (6–14 jam), dan rasio solid to liquid (0,2–2 g/20 mL) dengan hasil pelindian dianalisis menggunakan AAS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TDES stabil dengan rasio molar 1:2:1 dengan pH = 2, bersifat polar, dan rendah viskositas. Spektrum FTIR menunjukkan terbentuknya interaksi ikatan hidrogen dan ionik antar komponen. Analisis DSC menunjukkan bahwa TDES mengalami peleburan parsial pada 223–228℃ dengan ∆Hfusion = 0,0132Jg-1 dan kristalisasi dominan sekitar 250℃ dengan ∆Hcrystal = 0,0838 Jg-1, menunjukkan stabilitas termal hingga 200℃ sebelum terjadi transformasi struktur. Kondisi optimum pelindian logam perak diperoleh pada suhu 120℃, waktu 6 jam, dan rasio solid to liquid 2/20 g/mL dengan efisiensi pelindian mencapai 98,36%. Penelitian membuktikan bahwa TDES berbasis kolin klorida-gliserol-asam malat berpotensi sebagai pelarut ramah lingkungan dengan efisiensi tinggi dalam pemulihan logam perak dari limbah PCB dan menjadi solusi berkelanjutan dalam pengelolaan limbah elektronik. Kata kunci: E-waste, PCB, perak, TDES, pelindian. Electronic waste (e-waste) is the fastest-growing waste stream worldwide, containing valuable metals such as silver (Ag). Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) are the main components of e-waste with significant silver content. Conventional recovery methods such as pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy have negative environmental impacts. A greener alternative is the use of Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES), particularly their development into Ternary Deep Eutectic Solvents (TDES). This study synthesized a TDES based on choline chloride, glycerol, and malic acid, and evaluated its effectiveness in leaching silver from PCB waste. The TDES was synthesized at molar ratios of 1:2:1, 1:2:2, and 1:2:3 at 80°C for 2 hours. Characterization included viscosity, pH, solubility, FTIR, and DSC. Silver leaching experiments were carried out by varying temperature (60–140°C), time (6–14 hours), and solid-to-liquid ratios (0.2–2 g/20 mL), with leachates analyzed using AAS. The results showed that the most stable TDES was obtained at a 1:2:1 molar ratio, with pH = 2, polar nature, and low viscosity. FTIR confirmed hydrogen bonding and ionic interactions between components, while. DSC analysis showed that the TDES underwent partial melting at 223–228℃ with ∆Hfusion = 0,0132Jg-1 and dominant crystallization around 250℃ with ∆Hcrystal = 0,0838 Jg-1, indicating thermal stability up to 200℃ before structural transformation occurs. Optimum leaching was achieved at 120°C, 6 hours, and a solid-to-liquid ratio of 2/20 g/mL, with a leaching efficiency of 98.36%. This study demonstrates that choline chloride–glycerol–malic acid-based TDES is a promising green solvent with high efficiency for silver recovery from PCB waste, offering a sustainable solution for e-waste management.
