Abstract
Penelitian ini mengungkap representasi dua tokoh penting dalam kasus korupsi Hambalang di Harian Umum Pikiran Rakyat, yakni Anas Urbaningrum dan Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Penelitian ini dilakukan atas empat teks berita utama halaman 1 terpilih yang terbit November 2013 sampai Januari 2014. Hal yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini ialah bagaimana Pikiran Rakyat merepresentasikan kedua tokoh itu dalam pemberitaan kasus korupsi Hambalang. Dari analisis struktur makro yang dilakukan, Pikiran Rakyat lebih sering merepresentasikan Anas Urbaningrum secara negatif daripada Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan bermanfaat bagi media cetak, khususnya Pikiran Rakyat, dalam menulis berita. Kata kunci: Anas, Yudhoyono, representasi, korupsi, Hambalang This research uncovered representations of two important persons on the news of Hambalang graft case at the Pikiran Rakyat daily newspaper, these are Anas Urbaningrum and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. This study aimed to answer two research questions, these are on how Pikiran Rakyat daily newspaper represented Anas Urbaningrum and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and what ideology was at the backstage of Pikiran Rakyat news on Anas Urbaningrum and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at that Hambalang news covering. The things to be analyzed was the meaning occured in the sentences and discourses as a whole, with macrostructure as the analyzing tool. More than that, based on the analyses, researcher was able to uncover what ideology was in the Hambalang graft case news at Pikiran Rakyat daily newspaper. Data for this study was the selected headline news texts at the front page of Pikiran Rakyat daily newspaper regarded to the news discourse on Anas Urbaningrum and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Hambalang graft case that published on November 2013 till January 2014. At that time, Hambalang graft case news was on the center of public attentions. Data was analyzed by macrostructure analyses that was a Van Dijk’s thought on critical discourse analyses. Macrostructure analyses show that Pikiran Rakyat was more often to represent Anas Urbaningrum negatively than Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Pikiran Rakyat put itself at the public mainstream that hate corruption or graft. By the analyses that has been done, Anas was represented negatively in 58 times or 25,22 percent of the whole texts. On the other hand, positive representations for Anas was in 37 times or 16,09 percent. Ideologically, from verbal behaviour on this study, Pikiran Rakyat showed its partiality to the people. Hopefully, the results of this research would be fruitful for the printed media, including Pikiran Rakyat, in other to be more proportional in news writing or covering.
