Abstract

Pencak silat merupakan seni bela diri tradisional yang berasal dari Indonesia dan telah menjadi identitas kultural masyarakat Nusantara sejak masa lampau. Lebih dari sekadar aktivitas fisik untuk membela diri, pencak silat mengandung nilai-nilai filosofi yang sangat dalam, seperti ketakwaan kepada Tuhan, kedisiplinan dalam bertindak, sikap hormat terhadap sesama, dan rasa tanggung jawab terhadap diri sendiri maupun orang lain. Dalam setiap pertandingan pencak silat, keberadaan wasit dan juri memiliki peranan yang sangat sentral. Mereka bukan hanya penjaga jalannya pertandingan agar sesuai dengan peraturan, tetapi juga menjadi penentu dalam memastikan keadilan dan integritas kompetisi. Setiap keputusan yang mereka ambil sangat menentukan arah dan hasil pertandingan. Dalam cabang olahraga pencak silat, di mana penilaian bersifat subjektif dan situasional, kepercayaan diri wasit dan juri menjadi komponen yang sangat krusial dalam menjaga integritas kompetisi. Tanpa adanya kepercayaan diri yang kuat, wasit berpotensi membuat keputusan yang ragu-ragu, inkonsisten, atau bahkan keliru, yang dapat merugikan peserta serta mencoreng nilai sportivitas. Pencak silat is a traditional martial art originating from Indonesia and has been a cultural identity of the Indonesian people since ancient times. More than just a physical activity for self-defense, pencak silat embodies profound philosophical values, such as devotion to God, discipline in action, respect for others, and a sense of responsibility toward oneself and others. In every pencak silat competition, the presence of referees and judges plays a central role. They are not only responsible for ensuring the competition proceeds in accordance with the rules but also serve as the ultimate arbiters in maintaining fairness and the integrity of the competition. Every decision they make significantly influences the direction and outcome of the competition. In the sport of pencak silat, where judging is subjective and situational, the confidence of referees and judges is a crucial component in maintaining the integrity of the competition. Without strong confidence, referees may make hesitant, inconsistent, or even incorrect decisions, which could harm participants and tarnish the values of sportsmanship.
