Abstract
Obesity in children with mild intellectual disability impacts physical, psychological, and social health, necessitating an appropriate healthy lifestyle program. This study aims to describe the child's healthy lifestyle profile, objective family conditions, program formulation, and program implementation over six months. The method used was a case study with a qualitative and quantitative approach through observation, interviews, and monitoring of weight, height, and body mass index (BMI). The results showed a decrease in weight from 120 kg to 115 kg and BMI from 59.5 to 57.5. In addition, there were positive changes in eating patterns, physical activity, and family support. The program designed included habituation of eating patterns, physical activity, rest patterns, and collaboration between teachers and parents. During implementation, the children's weight and BMI decreased gradually, although there were still obstacles in children's understanding, limited parental time, and a lack of sports facilities. In conclusion, the healthy lifestyle program is effective in helping obese children with mild intellectual disability develop healthy behaviors. The success of the program is influenced by the synergy between teachers and parents.
