Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kenyataan yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis cerpen pada siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 5 Bandung masih rendah. Hal tersebut juga dipicu oleh motivasi siswa yan sangat rendah dalam menulis cerpen. Berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan, didapatkan hasil bahwa sebanyak 90,6% siswa menyatakan bahwa kegiatan menulis cerpen adalah kegiatan yang sangat sulit dilakukan, dan sekitar 78,1% siswa menyatakan membutuhkan alat bantu khusus untuk membuat mereka lebih mudah dalam menulis cerita pendek. Penerapan teknik transformasi dengan media film animasi diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa yang ditunjukkan lewat hasil projek dan aktivitas mereka dalam pembelajaran menulis cerpen. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan hasil pembelajaran menulis cerpen melalui teknik transformasi dengan menggunakan media film animasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang berusaha mengkaji dan merefleksi suatu teknik pembelajaran dengan tujuan meningkatkan proses dan hasil pembelajaran dalam kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 5 Bandung. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, angket, catatan lapangan, jurnal siswa, dokumentasi foto dan projek menulis cerpen. Adapun prosedur penelitiannya terdiri atas empat tahap yaitu 1) perencanaan penelitian tindakan kelas; 2) pelaksanaan penelitian tindakan kelas; 3) pengamatan tindakan; dan 4) refleksi tindakan yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Hasil pembelajaran menulis cerpen melalui teknik transformasi dengan menggunakan media film animasi terbilang cukup baik. Pada pelaksanaan tindakan siklus I, rata-rata menulis cerpen siswa adalah 71,5. Secara lebih rinci, satu orang siswa mendapat nilai A, tiga orang mendapat A-, empat orang B+, sebelas orang atau sekitar 40,7% dari 27 orang siswa termasuk ke dalam kategori predikat nilai B, enam orang masuk ke dalam predikat B- dan dua orang mendapat nilai C+. Pada pelaksanaan tindakan siklus II, rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 87,2 dengan tujuh orang mendapat nilai A, tiga belas orang atau sekitar 44,4% siswa termasuk ke dalam kategori predikat nilai A-, tiga orang siswa masuk ke dalam predikat B+, empat orang siswa mendapat nilai B, dan tidak ada lagi siswa yang mendapat nilai di bawah KKM dan mendapat nilai B- dan C+ lagi. This study was conducted because there was a fact that showed the students’ ability in class VII A SMP Negeri 5 Bandung in writing a short story was still low. That case was also triggered by the students’ motivation that was still low in writing a short story. Based on the previous study, it was found that there were 90,6% of students stated that writing a short story was difficult activities, and around 78,1% of students stated that they needed special tools to make them easy in writing a short story. The application of transformation technique by using animation film media is expected to be able to improve the students’ ability in writing a short story which is shown through the result of their projects and activities in learning writing a short story. This study was implemented in order to know the plan, the implementation, and learning outcomes of writing a short story through transformation technique by using animation film media. The research method used in this study was Classroom Action Research which tried to review and reflect a learning technique with the aim of improving the process and learning outcomes in the class. The subject of this study was the students class VII A SMP Negeri 5 Bandung. The data of this study were obtained from the result of interview, questionnaires, fieldnotes, students’ journals, photo documents, and project of writing a short story. As for the research procedures consisted of four steps, there were: (1) planning a classroom action research, (2) implementing a classroom action research, (3) observing a classroom action research, and (4) reflecting actions that consisted of two cycles. The learning outcomes of writing a short story through transformation technique by using animation film media was quite good. In implementation of cycle I, the average score of students in writing a short story was 71,5. In more detail, one student got an A, three students got A-, four students got B+, 11 students (40,7% ) out of 27 students were included into the category of predicate B, six students were included into predicate B-, and two students got C+. In implementation of cycle II, the average score of students increased into 87,2 with seven students got an A, thirteen students (44,4%) were included into the category of predicate A, three students were included into predicate B+, four students got B, and there was no more students who got score below KKM and got B- and C+.
