    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas IV dalam mengerjakan soal cerita materi KPK dan FPB. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN 1 Rahayu sebanyak 21 orang siswa dengan kriteria tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tulis dan wawancara dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian lima soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini yaitu triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan siswa kelas IV dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita mencapai rata-rata 60%. Persentase kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa berdasarkan Newman Error Analysis yaitu membaca sebanyak 38%, kesalahan pemahaman sebanyak 90%, kesalahan perubahan bentuk sebanyak 52%, keterampilan proses sebanyak 52%, dan kesalahan dalam penulisan jawaban akhir sebanyak 100%. Adapun kesalahan tertinggi yang dilakukan siswa yaitu pada tahap pemahaman dan penulisan jawaban. Siswa cenderung tidak menuliskan jawaban akhir atau kesimpulan hasil jawaban yang diperoleh. Faktor penyebab siswa melakukan kesalahan karena siswa kurang lancar dalam membaca, kurangnya pemahaman siswa tentang materi, kurangnya ketelitian, dan siswa tidak terbiasa untuk menuliskan jawaban secara terstruktur dan terperinci. This study aims to describe the problem-solving ability of grade IV students in working on story problems based on Newman Error Analysis. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 21 students in grade IV of SDN 1 Rahayu with high, medium, and low criteria. The data collection technique was carried out by a written test and interviews using a five-question research instrument on problem-solving skills and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique in this study is triangulation. The results of the study showed that the solving ability of grade IV students in solving story problems reached an average of 60%. The percentage of mistakes made by students based on Newman Error Analysis is 38% reading, 90% comprehension errors, 52% transformation errors, 52% process skills, and 100% errors in writing final answers. The highest mistakes made by students were at the stage of understanding and writing answers. Students tend not to write down the final answer or the conclusion of the answer results obtained. The factors that cause students to make mistakes are because students are less fluent in reading, lack of understanding of the material, lack of precision, and students are not used to writing answers in a structured and detailed manner.
