Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah tingginya angka kemiskinan di Kecamatan Rongga bila dibandingkan dengan kecamatan lainnya di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui sikap mental penduduk miskin dilihat berdasarkan variabel kontrol umur, jenis kelamin, pendidikan, mata pencaharian, pendapatan dan beban tanggungan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kepala keluarga miskin di Kecamatan Rongga. Populasi sebanyak 9216 kepala keluarga, sampel yang diambil yaitu sebanyak 369 kepala keluarga. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey deskriptif dengan menggunakan angket sebagai alat pengumpul data. Teknik analis data menggunakan uji median dan crosstab dengan uji korelasi dua variabel. Dalam analisis data menggunakan bantuan program SPSS 18 for Windows. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh temuan bahwa sikap mental penduduk miskin termasuk ke dalam kategori tinggi. Dilihat berdasarkan variabel kontrol, terdapat hubungan antara sikap mental dengan pendidikan dan pendapatan. Kata Kunci: kemiskinan, sikap mental. The background of this study is the high rate of poverty in District cavity of Rongga which has compared with anathor districh of West Bandung. This study aims to knowing the mental attitude of the poor which are seen based on variabel control like age, gender, education, livelihood, income and dependency. The subject of this research is the head family in Rongga District. The population are 9216 head of family, sample of the population are 369 head of family. The survey descriptive method with questionaire as the data collection tool is used as the method. The median test and crosstab with correlation of two variabel are used as the analysis data technique. SPSS 18.0 program for windows used to help the analysis data. Based on the research. The result showed that the mental attitude of the poor population is including on the high catagory. Based on the variabel control, there is a correlation between the mental attitude with education and income. Keywords: poverty, mental attitude.
