    Abstract

    Rendahnya keterampilan menyimak siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia menjadi permasalahan utama yang mendasari dilakukannya penelitian ini. Dalam proses pembelajaran, banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami isi pesan yang disampaikan secara lisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia melalui penerapan metode audio-lingual. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V di salah satu sekolah dasar. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi lembar observasi, tes keterampilan menyimak, dan dokumentasi. Penerapan metode audiolingual dilakukan secara bertahap, dimana pada siklus menggunakan dialog, pada siklus II diterapkan dialog berbentuk cerita dengan tiga tokoh, dan pada siklus III menggunakan cerita monolog yang disampaikan oleh satu narator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan terhadap keterampilan menyimak siswa dari siklus hingga siklus III. Peningkatan tersebut tercermin dari kenaikan rata-rata nilai hasil tes menyimak serta meningkatnya partisipasi aktif siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, metode audiolingual dapat disimpulkan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. The low listening skills of students in Indonesian language learning became the main issue that prompted this research. During the learning process, many students had difficulty understanding the content of spoken messages. This study aims to improve students' listening skills in Indonesian language learning through the implementation of the audio-lingual method. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in three cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were fifth-grade students at a public elementary school. The instruments used in this study included observation sheets, listening skill tests, and documentation. The implementation of the audio-lingual method was carried out in stages: in the first cycle, two-way dialogues were used; in the second cycle, a story-based dialogue involving three characters was applied; and in the third cycle, a monologue narrative delivered by a single narrator was utilized. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in students' listening skills from the first to the third cycle. This improvement was evident in the increase in average listening test scores as well as in the students’ active participation during the learning process. Thus, the audio-lingual method was proven to be effective in improving students’ listening skills in Indonesian language learning.
