    Abstract

    Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains siswa, kurangnya penggunaan model pembelajaran yang sistematis dan kontekstual, serta terbatasnya bahan ajar yang mendukung keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) yang berorientasi pada literasi sains pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Design-Based Research (DBR) yang dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan utama: identifikasi dan analisis masalah, perancangan solusi, uji coba dan evaluasi, serta refleksi dan revisi model. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes kemampuan literasi sains, yang kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukan bahwa guru dan siswa membutuhkan model pembelajaran yang konstektual, aktif, dan mendukung pengembangan literasi sains. Solusi yang dirancang berupa model pembelajaran RADEC yang dipadukan dengan kompetensi literasi sains. Implementasi model menunjukan bahwa sintaks RADEC terlaksana secara sistematis, dengan partisipasi aktif siswa dan peran guru sebagai fasilitator. Hasil evaluasi menunjukan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan literasi sains siswa dalam tiga aspek utama yaitu mengidentifikasi isu ilmiah, menjelaskan fenomena secara ilmiah, dan menggunakan bukti ilmiah. Refleksi dari implementasi mengarah pada penyempurnaan sintaks dan media pendukung pembelajaran. Penerapan model ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan kualitas proses dan hasil belajar IPA, khususnya dalam aspek literasi sains. This research is motivated by the low scientific literacy skills of students, the limited use of systematic and contextual learning models, and the lack of teaching materials that support active student engagement in science learning. The study aims to develop the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) learning model oriented toward scientific literacy in the topic of the human digestive system at the elementary school level. The research employed a Design-Based Research (DBR) approach, carried out through four main stages: problem identification and analysis, solution design, trial and evaluation, as well as reflection and model revision. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and scientific literacy tests, and analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The needs analysis revealed that teachers and students require a contextual, active learning model that fosters scientific literacy. The proposed solution was the RADEC model integrated with scientific literacy competencies. Implementation results showed that the RADEC syntax was carried out systematically, with active student participation and teachers acting as facilitators. Evaluation indicated a significant improvement in students’ scientific literacy skills across three key aspects: identifying scientific issues, explaining phenomena scientifically, and using scientific evidence. Reflections from the implementation led to refinements in syntax and supporting learning media. Overall, the application of the RADEC model demonstrated improvements in the quality of science learning processes and outcomes, particularly in scientific literacy.
