Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) terhadap pemahaman konsep materi kegiatan ekonomi siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi-eksperimen dan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas IVA sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model RADEC dan kelas IVB sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest dengan instrumen berupa soal uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum penerapan model RADEC, pemahaman konsep siswa masih rendah, dengan rata-rata nilai pretest kelas eksperimen sebesar 45,39. Setelah penerapan, terjadi peningkatan signifikan dengan rata-rata nilai posttest sebesar 71,33 dan seluruh siswa mencapai kategori tinggi hingga sangat tinggi. Uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai signifikansi < 0,001. Kelas kontrol juga mengalami peningkatan, namun tidak sebaik kelas eksperimen, dengan rata-rata posttest hanya sebesar 46,67. Hasil uji Mann-Whitney U menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas (signifikansi < 0,001), dengan nilai mean rank kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran RADEC berpengaruh secara signifikan dan lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep kegiatan ekonomi siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. This study aims to determine the effect of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) learning model on the understanding of economic concepts among fourth-grade elementary school students. The approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of two classes: Class IVA as the experimental class using the RADEC model and Class IVB as the control class using conventional teaching methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through pretest and posttest using essay-type questions as instruments. The results showed that before the implementation of the RADEC model, students' conceptual understanding was still low, with an average pretest score of 45.39 for the experimental class. After implementation, there was a significant increase, with an average posttest score of 71.33, and all students achieved high to very high categories. The Wilcoxon test showed a significance value of < 0.001. The control class also experienced an increase, but not as good as the experimental class, with an average posttest score of only 46.67. The Mann-Whitney U test results showed a significant difference between the two classes (significance < 0.001), with the experimental class having a higher mean rank. Thus, it can be concluded that the RADEC learning model has a significant and more effective impact on improving fourth-grade elementary school students' understanding of economic concepts compared to conventional learning.
