Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas model pembelajaran RADEC berbasis etnosains Hutan Larangan Kampung Adat Kuta terhadap kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik sekolah dasar. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah potensi Hutan Larangan Kampung Adat Kuta sebagai sumber etnosains yang kaya nilai lokal, serta pentingnya literasi sains sebagai kompetensi esensial abad ke-21 dalam membekali peserta didik menghadapi isu-isu ilmiah secara reflektif dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah 20 peserta didik kelas V di salah satu SD Negeri di Kabupaten Ciamis. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari tes literasi sains berbasis etnosains dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dengan analisis data menggunakan model Rasch melalui aplikasi Ministep. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik pada pretest berada pada tingkat 1a, dengan rata-rata skor 14,4 dan logit 0,89, serta kesulitan ditemukan pada aspek menjelaskan fenomena ilmiah dan menafsirkan data; (2) proses pembelajaran RADEC berlangsung sistematis dan meningkatkan aktivitas peserta didik pada setiap sintaks, terutama pada tahap Create yang menekankan produk kreatif berbasis nilai lokal; (3) kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik meningkat pada posttest dengan rata-rata skor 16,7 dan logit 1,47, serta mencapai tingkat 3; dan (4) analisis stacking dan Wright Map memperlihatkan pergeseran kemampuan peserta didik ke logit yang lebih tinggi dengan rata-rata peningkatan 0,80, sedangkan analisis racking menunjukkan penurunan rata-rata nilai item measure sebesar -0,47 dari sebelumnya 0,00. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran RADEC berbasis etnosains terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the RADEC learning model based on ethnoscience of the Hutan Larangan in Kampung Adat Kuta on elementary school students’ scientific literacy skills. The study was motivated by the potential of the Hutan Larangan as a source of ethnoscience rich in local values, as well as the importance of scientific literacy as an essential 21st-century competence to prepare students to face scientific issues reflectively and contextually. The research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants were 20 fifth-grade students from a public elementary school in Ciamis Regency. The instruments consisted of an ethnoscience-based scientific literacy test and an observation sheet for learning implementation, while data were analyzed using the Rasch model with the Ministep application. The results showed that: (1) students’ scientific literacy ability at the pretest was at Level 1a, with an average score of 14.4 and a logit value of 0.89, with difficulties observed in explaining scientific phenomena and interpreting data; (2) the RADEC learning process was implemented systematically and enhanced student engagement in each syntax, particularly in the Create stage, which emphasized creative products based on local values; (3) students’ scientific literacy improved in the posttest with an average score of 16.7 and a logit value of 1.47, reaching Level 3; and (4) stacking analysis and the Wright Map demonstrated a shift in students’ ability to higher logit levels with an average increase of 0.80, while racking analysis indicated a decrease in the average item measure value of -0.47 from the initial 0.00. These findings indicate that the ethnoscience-based RADEC learning model is effective in improving students’ scientific literacy skills.
