Abstract
This study aims to describe the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning about local culture in fourth grade students of SDN Margamulya, identify implementation constraints, and determine students' responses to the learning. The method used is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of a fourth grade teacher and five students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the implementation of PBL was able to increase students' engagement and understanding of local culture material. The learning process proceeded through the stages of problem orientation, student organization, investigation, presentation of results, and evaluation. The constraints faced included time constraints, lack of local culture-based learning resources, and variations in student abilities. Student responses were generally positive; they were more motivated, actively engaged in discussions, and able to relate the material to everyday life. The implementation of PBL in local culture-based IPAS learning can be an effective strategy to foster understanding, critical attitudes, and a sense of concern for cultural preservation
