    Abstract

Introduction: Breast milk production is influenced by hormonal, psychological, and physical stimulation factors. Oxytocin massage is a non-pharmacological intervention that can stimulate the release of the hormone oxytocin to facilitate the let-down reflex. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of oxytocin massage in facilitating breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Method: The study used a qualitative method with a case study approach, conducted for two days at Dustira II Kindergarten Hospital. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and implementation of oxytocin massage intervention twice a day according to the SOP. Subjects were postpartum mothers who experienced difficulty in expressing breast milk and had no complications. Results: The intervention showed an increase in breast milk volume from 6 mL to 35 mL in two days, with breastfeeding frequency increasing from 6–7 times to 9–10 times per day. The let-down reflex improved, and mothers reported comfort and increased confidence during breastfeeding. Discussion: Oxytocin massage not only increased breast milk volume but also had a positive psychological impact. Partner support during the intervention strengthened the mother's emotional state, indicating that oxytocin massage is holistic and applicable in maternity nursing practice. Keywords: Oxytocin massage, breast milk production, postpartum mother.
