    Abstract

    Penelitian ini yang berjudul “Konsep Intonalisme Pada Komposisi “10000” Karya Zain Mhz”. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis Intonalisme secara musikal tension-release yang dibangun melalui relasi melodis-harmonis dalam karya “10000” Zain Mhz serta mengidentifikasi dan menjelaskan bagaimana teknologi pitch-shifting digunakan dalam mendukung karakteristik genre Eksperimental dengan latar belakang untuk menganalisis struktur musikal “10000” karya Zain Mhz, musisi/produser independen asal Bali yang mengusung sub-genre eksperimental dengan karakter yang agresif, atmosferik, dan eksperimental. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif metode deskriptif-analitik berdasarkan kerangka Methods of Analysis in Musicology oleh Nicolas Ruwet, mencakup tahap analitik untuk mengidentifikasi unit struktural dan tahap sintetis untuk menguji keterkaitannya. Menggunakan beberapa data penelitian yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, analisis partitur dan tablatur, serta pengamatan rekaman audio-visual. Hasil akhir penelitian ini berkontribusi pada kajian musikologi, khususnya analisis musik eksperimental serta peran teknologi dalam membentuk identitas karya. Sehingga, penelitian ini dapat menjadi rujukan bagi musisi, pendidik, dan peneliti dalam pengembangan komposisi dan produksi eksperimental di Indonesia. This study, entitled “The Concept of Intonalism in the Composition “10000” by Zain Mhz”, aims to analyze the application of intonalism through the musical principle of tension–release, which is constructed via melodic–harmonic relationships in Zain Mhz’s “10000.” It also seeks to identify and explain how pitch-shifting technology is utilized to support the aesthetic characteristics of the experimental subgenre. The research focuses on the musical structure of “10000” by Zain Mhz, an independent musician and producer from Bali whose works are characterized by an aggressive, atmospheric, and experimental style.The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive–analytical method based on Nicolas Ruwet’s Methods of Analysis in Musicology, encompassing an analytical stage to identify structural units and a synthetic stage to examine their interrelations. The data were collected through interviews, score and tablature analysis, and observations of audio-visual recordings. The findings of this research contribute to the field of musicology, particularly in the analysis of experimental music and the role of technology in shaping a work’s bunyi identity. Accordingly, this study may serve as a reference for musicians, educators, and researchers in the development of experimental composition and production practices in Indonesia.
