    Abstract

    Ketersediaan spare part berperan penting dalam menjaga kelancaran operasional mesin, khususnya di industri kemasan fleksibel seperti PT XYZ. Perusahaan mengalami keterlambatan pengadaan spare part impor karena pola permintaan yang tidak teratur (lumpy demand) dan belum adanya sistem pengendalian persediaan yang terstruktur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan akurasi metode peramalan Croston dan Syntetos-Boylan Approximation (SBA), serta menilai efektivitas pengendalian persediaan metode Min-Max dalam menurunkan Total Inventory Cost (TIC) dibandingkan metode intuitif. Penelitian menggunakan metode Croston dan SBA untuk peramalan permintaan, uji eror menggunakan MAD, RMSE, dan MASE, sedangkan validasi dilakukan melalui peta Moving Range (MR), metode Min-Max dalam menentukan safety stock, minimum stock, dan maximum stock, serta menghitung TIC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode SBA menghasilkan nilai eror lebih rendah, yaitu 2,21 dibandingkan Croston 2,23 dan tervalidasi peta MR. Selain itu, perhitungan metode Min-Max dengan penetapan minimum stock menghasilkan TIC sebesar Rp253.040.337,25 dengan efisiensi 21,46%, sedangkan penetapan maximum stock menghasilkan TIC sebesar Rp253.999.803,20 dengan efisiensi 21,17% dibandingkan metode intuitif perusahaan yang mencatat TIC tertinggi sebesar Rp322.193.239,46. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan metode peramalan SBA dengan pengendalian persediaan Min-Max mampu meningkatkan efisiensi biaya dan pengelolaan persediaan spare part pada permintaan yang bersifat lumpy. The availability of spare parts plays an important role in maintaining smooth machine operations, particularly in the flexible packaging industry such as PT XYZ. The company has experienced delays in procuring imported spare parts due to irregular demand patterns (lumpy demand) and the absence of a structured inventory control system. This study aims to compare the accuracy of the Croston and Syntetos-Boylan Approximation (SBA) forecasting methods, as well as to assess the effectiveness of the Min-Max inventory control method in reducing Total Inventory Cost (TIC) compared with the intuitive method. The research employs the Croston and SBA methods for demand forecasting, error testing using MAD, RMSE, and MASE, with validation conducted through the Moving Range (MR) chart, while the Min-Max method is applied to determine safety stock, minimum stock, and maximum stock, and to calculate TIC. The results show that the SBA method produces a lower error value of 2.21 compared with Croston’s 2.23 and is validated by the MR chart. In addition, the Min-Max method with minimum stock settings yields a TIC of Rp253,040,337.25 with an efficiency of 21.46%, while the maximum stock setting results in a TIC of Rp253,999,803.20 with an efficiency of 21.17%, compared with the company’s intuitive method which recorded the highest TIC of Rp322,193,239.46. These findings demonstrate that the application of the SBA forecasting method combined with Min-Max inventory control can improve cost efficiency and spare part inventory management under lumpy demand conditions.
