Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pengembangan destinasi wisata budaya pada Keraton Kasepuhan di Cirebon sebagai salah satu ikon warisan budaya Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, serta studi dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Untuk merumuskan strategi, penelitian ini memanfaatkan analisis SWOT yang dituangkan ke dalam matriks IFAS dan EFAS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Keraton Kasepuhan memiliki berbagai kekuatan, seperti nilai historis dan arsitektur yang unik, keberadaan tradisi serta upacara adat yang masih terjaga, serta dukungan masyarakat lokal. Namun demikian, ditemukan pula kelemahan, antara lain keterbatasan fasilitas pendukung wisata, promosi yang belum optimal, serta keterbatasan interpretasi budaya bagi wisatawan. Dari sisi eksternal, peluang yang dapat dimanfaatkan meliputi tren meningkatnya minat wisata budaya, dukungan kebijakan pemerintah, dan potensi kolaborasi dengan pihak swasta maupun komunitas. Sementara itu, ancaman utama berupa persaingan dengan destinasi budaya lain, pergeseran minat wisatawan, serta risiko degradasi nilai budaya akibat komersialisasi. Strategi yang direkomendasikan meliputi pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam promosi dan interpretasi budaya, peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia melalui pelatihan pemandu wisata, penguatan kolaborasi dengan pemerintah dan komunitas budaya, serta penyediaan atraksi partisipatif yang memberikan pengalaman otentik bagi wisatawan. This study aims to analyze the development strategy for cultural tourism destinations at the Kasepuhan Palace in Cirebon, one of West Java's cultural heritage icons. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and verification techniques. To formulate the strategy, this study utilized a SWOT analysis outlined in the IFAS and EFAS matrices. The results show that the Kasepuhan Palace has various strengths, such as unique historical and architectural value, the existence of traditions and traditional ceremonies, and support from the local community. However, weaknesses were also identified, including limited tourism support facilities, suboptimal promotion, and limited cultural interpretation for tourists. From the external perspective, opportunities that can be utilized include the trend of increasing interest in cultural tourism, government policy support, and potential collaboration with the private sector and communities. Meanwhile, the main threats include competition with other cultural destinations, shifts in tourist interests, and the risk of cultural degradation due to commercialization. Recommended strategies include utilizing digital technology in cultural promotion and interpretation, improving the quality of human resources through tour guide training, strengthening collaboration with the government and cultural communities, and providing participatory attractions that provide authentic experiences for tourists.
