Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sosiodemografi pengguna media sosial X terhadap penerimaan LGBT. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan desain deskriptif korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 398 responden yang dipilih menggunakan rumus Cochran dengan batas kesalahan sebesar 5%. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner yang disebar di aplikasi X dengan skala likert dan hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, dan inferensial. Hasil pengujian normalitas distribusi diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa data tidak berdistribusi normal sehingga pengujian dilakukan menggunakan statistika non-parametrik berupa; uji korelasi Pearson Point-Biserial, uji beda lebih dari dua kategori menggunakan Kruskal-Wallis, dan uji beda dua kategori menggunakan Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara sosiodemografi pengguna aplikasi X dengan tingkat penerimaan LGBT. Tingkat penerimaan terhadap LGBT berada pada kategori moderat. Uji hubungan antar variabel menunjukkan bahwa ketertarikan seksual memiliki hubungan yang kuat dan signifikan terhadap penerimaan LGBT. Variabel lain seperti agama, pekerjaan, generasi, dan jenis kelamin juga menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan, meskipun dengan kekuatan korelasi yang sedang hingga lemah. Sementara itu, tidak ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan, lokasi tempat tinggal, dan status perkawinan dengan penerimaan LGBT. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor identitas pribadi seperti orientasi seksual dan latar keagamaan lebih berpengaruh terhadap sikap individu dibandingkan faktor struktural seperti pendidikan formal atau lokasi geografis. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan dalam kajian sosiologi digital, dan sebagai dasar untuk penelitian lanjutan terkait dinamika sikap sosial di ruang virtual. Kata Kunci: Media Sosial X, Penerimaan LGBT, Sosiodemografi ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the sociodemographic characteristics of social media platform X users in relation to their acceptance of LGBT individuals. A quantitative approach was employed, using a survey method with a descriptive-correlational design. The study involved a sample of 398 respondents, determined using Cochran’s formula with a 5% margin of error. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via the X application, using a Likert scale. The results were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Normality testing indicated that the data were not normally distributed; therefore, non-parametric statistical tests were used. These included the Pearson Point-Biserial correlation test, the Kruskal-Wallis test for comparisons among more than two categories, and the Mann-Whitney U test for comparisons between two categories. The findings revealed a significant relationship between users’ sociodemographic factors and their level of LGBT acceptance. Overall, LGBT acceptance was categorized as moderate. Among the variables, sexual orientation showed the strongest and most significant correlation with LGBT acceptance. Other variables, such as religion, occupation, generation, and gender, also demonstrated significant correlations, although with moderate to weak strengths. In contrast, no significant relationship was found between educational level, residential location, or marital status and LGBT acceptance. These findings suggest that personal identity factors such as sexual orientation and religious background have a greater influence on individual attitudes than structural factors like formal education or geographic location. This research is expected to contribute to the field of digital sociology and serve as a foundation for further studies on social attitudes in virtual spaces.
