Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian desain tentang pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis penalaran induktif pada pokok bahasan prisma dan limas. Masalah yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah kesulitan belajar siswa yang berkaitan dengan kemampuan penalaran induktif dan keterbatasan bahan ajar yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, perlu dirancang bahan ajar yang dapat digunakan untuk mengantisipasi kesulitan belajar siswa yang mungkin akan muncul melalui penelitian desain. Penelitian desain terdiri dari tiga fase yaitu preliminary first design, experiment, dan retrospective analysis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bentuk tugas-tugas berbasis penalaran induktif untuk memfasilitasi siswa dalam menemukan rumus volume dan luas permukaan limas serta prisma. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tugas-tugas yang memfasilitasi siswa dalam menemukan rumus volume limas dan prisma dimulai dengan melakukan pengamatan terhadap kasus-kasus khusus kemudian menyimpulkannya secara umum. Sedangkan tugas-tugas yang memfasilitasi siswa dalam menemukan rumus luas permukaan limas dan prisma berupa kegiatan menganalogikan dua kasus yang berbeda dan mengamati kasus-kasus khusus untuk melihat kesamaannya dalam menarik suatu kesimpulan. This is a study of the design on the development of inductive reasoning-based teaching materials for the topics of prism and pyramid. The problem underpinning this study is the studens’ difficulties on the ability to have inductive reasoning and the limited teaching materials used in the learning process. Thus, it is important to design teaching materials that will be used to overcome students’ problem which might appear in the design research. Design research consists of three stages including preliminary firs design, experiment and retrospective analysis. This study aims to identify inductive-reasoning assignment to facilitate students in finding the formula for volume and surface. The subject of the study were the eighth grader of SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung academic year 2013-2014. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that assignments which facilitate the students in finding out the formula for the volume of pyramid and prism were started from the observations on the cases that were generally concluded. Meanwhile, assignment facilitating the students to find out the surface of pyramid and prism are in the forms of activities which analogize two different cases to see the similarities in drawing the inferences.
