    Abstract

    Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya minat dan pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar terhadap materi sejarah candi yang umumnya diajarkan secara konvensional, sehingga kurang menarik dan sulit dipahami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap sejarah candi di Indonesia melalui pemanfaatan aplikasi YouTube sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kurt Lewin yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah 24 siswa kelas V SDN Cibeureum III Kecamatan Cimalaka Kabupaten Sumedang pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes hasil belajar, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, soal tes hasil belajar, pedoman wawancara, dan dokumentasi pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum tindakan, 45,8% siswa belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) 60. Setelah pembelajaran dengan video YouTube pada siklus I, seluruh siswa mencapai KKM dengan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek fokus menyimak video, keaktifan berdiskusi, dan antusiasme belajar. Siklus II memperkuat hasil tersebut dengan peningkatan skor observasi dan konsistensi ketuntasan hasil belajar. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemanfaatan video pembelajaran dari YouTube efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman sejarah candi di Indonesia pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Kata kunci: YouTube, media pembelajaran, sejarah candi, pemahaman siswa The background of this research is based on the low interest and understanding of elementary school students toward temple history material, which is generally taught through conventional methods, making it less engaging and difficult to comprehend. This study aims to improve students’ understanding of the history of temples in Indonesia through the use of YouTube as a learning medium. The research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using Kurt Lewin’s model, conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 24 fifth- grade students of SDN Cibeureum III, Cimalaka District, Sumedang Regency, during the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation, learning achievement tests, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used included student activity observation sheets, learning achievement test questions, interview guidelines, and learning documentation. The results showed that before the action, 45.8% of students had not achieved the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of 60. After learning with YouTube videos in cycle I, all students achieved the KKM with a significant improvement in aspects such as focusing on watching the video, active participation in discussions, and learning enthusiasm. Cycle II reinforced these results with increased observation scores and consistent mastery of learning outcomes.
