Abstract
Literasi sains di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah dimana Indonesia berada pada peringkat ke 67 dari 81 negara. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut ialah dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran dan model pembelajaran yang memfasilitasi siswa untuk meningkatkan literasi sains tersebut. Pada proses pembelajarannya penelitian ini menggunakan model pembelajaran Group Investigation (GI) yang dikombinasikan dengan Science Literacy Circles (SLC) dimana siswa setelah berkelompok kecil kemudian tiap anggota akan memiliki peran sesuai dengan SLC. SLC merupakan suatu metode pembelajaran yang menekankan pada diskusi kelompok berbasis teks ilmiah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan literasi sains siswa, sedangkan GI memfasilitasi siswa untuk bekerja secara kolaboratif untuk memecahkan suatu masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain one group pretest posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 36 orang siswa di kelas X di SMA Negeri 2 Bandung pada materi perubahan lingkungan. Hasil keterlaksanaan SLC terintegrasi model GI dikategorikan tinggi, hasil sebelum dan setelah penerapan SLC terintegrasi model GI mendapatkan nilai N-Gain 0,6227 yang dikategorikan sedang, sedangkan hasil respons siswa menunjukkan tanggapan yang positif terhadap penerapan SLC terintegrasi model GI. Simpulan dari penelitian yang didapatkan ialah pembelajaran dengan menerapkan metode SLC terintegrasi model GI dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa kelas X SMA. Scientific literacy in Indonesia remains relatively low, with the country ranking 67th out of 81 participating nations. One effort to address this issue is through the implementation of teaching methods and learning models that facilitate students' improvement of their scientific literacy. This study employs the Group Investigation (GI) learning model, combined with the Science Literacy Circles (SLC) method. During the learning process, students are divided into small groups, with each member assigned a specific role according to the SLC structure. SLC is a learning method that emphasizes group discussions based on scientific texts to enhance students’ understanding and scientific literacy, while GI encourages students to collaborate in solving real-world problems. This research used a onegroup pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 36 tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Bandung, focusing on the topic of environmental change. The implementation of SLC integrated with the GI model was categorized as high. The students' N-Gain score before and after the intervention was 0,6227, which falls into the medium category. Additionally, students' responses indicated a positive perception of the SLC-GI approach. The study concludes that the application of the SLC method integrated with the GI model can effectively improve the scientific literacy of tenth-grade high school students.
