    Abstract

    Penelitian ini didasari oleh permasalahan rendahnya keterampilan sosial siswa sekolah dasar di kelas III. Hal ini disebabkan oleh meluasnya penggunaan metode pembelajaran konvensional, yang kurang memberikan siswa kesempatan untuk berkolaborasi dan berinteraksi secara aktif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana keterampilan sosial siswa dipengaruhi oleh pendekatan pembelajaran Project-Based Learning (PJBL). Penelitian ini menggunakan Nonequivalent Control Group Design dengan metode kuantitatif, dan pendekatan kuasi-eksperimental terhadap dua kelas, kelas eksperimen yang menerima perlakuan PJBL dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Sampel penelitian yang diambil menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh dengan populasi penelitian melibatkan 46 siswa kelas III dari SD Negeri Pakuwon I. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu observasi dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian skor posttest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berbeda secara signifikan. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh hasil uji-t sampel berpasangan serta nilai rata- rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PJBL lebih efektif dibandingkan metode pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan kemampuan sosial siswa. Pada penelitian dalam konteks pendidikan dasar, guru dapat menggunakan PJBL sebagai strategi yang dapat menumbuhkan lingkungan belajar yang kooperatif, menarik, dan bermakna, serta mendorong pengembangan karakter sosial anak-anak sejak usia dini. Kata Kunci: IPS, Keterampilan sosial, Kuantitatif, Project-Based Learning, Sekolah dasar This research is based on the problem of low social skills of elementary school students in grade III. This is caused by the widespread use of conventional learning methods, which provide less opportunities for students to collaborate and interact actively. Therefore, this study aims to determine how students' social skills are affected by the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) learning approach. This study uses a Nonequivalent Control Group Design with quantitative methods, and a quasi- experimental approach to two classes, an experimental class that received PJBL treatment and a control class that used conventional methods. The research sample was taken using a saturated sampling technique with a research population involving 46 grade III students from Pakuwon I Elementary School. The research instruments used were observation and tests. Based on the research results, the posttest scores of the experimental class and the control class were significantly different. This is indicated by the results of the paired sample t-test and the average N-Gain value of the experimental class which was greater than that of the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PJBL model is more effective than conventional learning methods in improving students' social skills. In research in the context of elementary education, teachers can use PJBL as a strategy that can foster a cooperative, interesting, and meaningful learning environment, as well as encourage the development of children's social character from an early age.
