    Abstract

    Purpose – This study aims to analyze the influence of workload and perceived organizational support on employee performance among taxi drivers at PT Bluebird Pool Warung Buncit. The research focuses on understanding how well-managed workload and organizational support affect productivity, safety, and well-being in a high-demand transport sector. Design/methods/approach – A quantitative descriptive and verificative approach was employed, using a survey method involving 101 driver respondents selected through probability sampling. The questionnaire, measured with a 5-point Likert scale, assessed workload, perceived organizational support, and employee performance based on validated and reliable indicators. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroskedasticity checks, processed through SPSS version 29. Findings – The results revealed that both workload and perceived organizational support had significant positive effects on employee performance. Specifically, workload that was well-managed encouraged productivity, while perceived organizational support enhanced motivation and loyalty. The model explained 78.5% of the variation in performance (R² = 0.785). All variables passed reliability and validity tests, confirming the robustness of the instrument used. Research implications/limitations – This study is limited to the taxi transportation sector and focuses solely on workload and perceived organizational support as predictors. Future research could incorporate other variables such as leadership style, job satisfaction, or work-life balance to provide a more comprehensive understanding of performance drivers. Originality/value – This study contributes to the field by highlighting the dual impact of operational and psychological factors on driver performance in the transportation sector. It also provides actionable insights for organizations aiming to boost productivity and retention by managing workload and strengthening support systems for employees.
