Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan bahwa siswa sekolah dasar mengalami kesulitan dalam mengingat kosakata bahasa Inggris, khususnya pada tema animals. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran Learn AniMe! berbasis pendekatan scaffolding pada materi kosakata bahasa Inggris unit animals untuk siswa kelas III sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah Design and Development (D&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Subjek penelitian meliputi ahli materi, ahli media, dan siswa kelas III di salah satu sekolah dasar negeri di Kecamatan Ganeas, Kabupaten Sumedang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan angket. Media berbasis web ini menggabungkan Google Sites dan Scratch dengan pendekatan scaffolding untuk mendukung kebutuhan siswa sekolah dasar yang masih berada pada tahap operasional konkret. Hasil validasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi menunjukkan kategori “sangat layak” dengan skor masing-masing 88,23% dan 100%. Respon siswa yang diperoleh melalui uji coba kelompok kecil dan besar menghasilkan rata-rata 98,57% dan 88,10% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Learn AniMe! berbasis pendekatan scaffolding layak digunakan sebagai alternatif inovatif untuk pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Inggris tema animals pada siswa kelas III sekolah dasar. This study was motivated by the problem that elementary school students often experience difficulties in memorizing English vocabulary, particularly in the animals theme. The purpose of this study was to develop the Learn AniMe! learning media based on the scaffolding approach for English vocabulary material in the animals unit for third-grade elementary school students. The research employed the Design and Development (D&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research subjects included material experts, media experts, and third-grade students from a public elementary school in Ganeas Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. This web-based media combines Google Sites and Scratch with the scaffolding approach to support the needs of elementary school students who are still in the concrete operational stage. Validation results from media and material experts indicated a “very feasible” category, with scores of 88.23% and 100%, respectively. Student responses obtained from small-group and large-group trials yielded averages of 98.57% and 88.10%, both categorized as “very good.” These findings indicate that Learn AniMe!, based on the scaffolding approach, is suitable for use as an innovative alternative for teaching English vocabulary in the animals theme to third-grade elementary school students.
