Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan Keterampilan Sains (KPS) siswa kelas V SD Negeri 3 Cibodas. Hal ini ditandai oleh kurangnya kegiatan KPS siswa pada saat proses pembelajaran serta rendahnya hasil tes KPS pada akhir pembelajaran. Dari hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti, didapatkan data bahwa nilai rata-rata evaluasi KPS adalah 57.03 dengan siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 13 orang atau sekitar 40.63%. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut peneliti menggunakan model Discovery Learning sebagai pemecahan masalahnya, sehingga didapat rumusan masalah umum yakni bagaimanakah pelaksanaan model discovery learning pada mata pelajaran IPA materi sifat-sifat cahaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri 3 Cibodas? Dengan rumusan masalah secara khusus yakni: Bagaimanakah pelaksanaan pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam materi Sifat-sifat cahaya di kelas V melalui penerapan model discovery learning? Serta bagaimanakah peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam materi sifat-sifat cahaya di kelas V melalui penerapan model discovery learning?. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memperoleh gambaran pelaksanaan pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam materi sifat-sifat cahaya di kelas V dengan menerapkan model discovery learning dan mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam materi Sifat-sifat cahaya di kelas V setelah menerapkan model discovery learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart dan dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus. Insrtumen pengumpul data yang digunakan meliputi tes KPS, catatan lapangan dan lembar observasi. Pengolahan data meliputi pengolahan data yang bersifat kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil yang didapat setelah penelitian adalah adanya peningkatan kemampuan KPS siswa, pada siklus I nilai rata-rata yang didapat siswa yakni 72.18 dengan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 87.10%, pada siklus II nilai rata-rata yang didapat sebesar 77.97 dengan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 93.75% sementara pada siklus III nilai rata-rata yang didapat siswa sebesar 81.72 dengan persentase ketuntasan mencapai 96.88%. Penelitian ini dapat mejadi sumbangan yang positif bagi guru, siswa, sekolah dan peneliti selanjutnya dalam menerapkan model Discovery Learning pada pembelajaran IPA sebagai upaya meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains Siswa Kata Kunci : Discovery Learning, Keterampilan Proses Sains This research is motivated by the lack of skill of Science fifth grade students of SD Negeri 3 Cibodas. It is characterized by a lack of Science Process Skills activities of students during the learning process and low Science Process Skills test results at the end of the learning. From the results of observations made by researchers, the results obtained that the average value is 57.03 with the evaluation of Science Process Skills students who completed as many as 13 people or about 40.63%. To overcome these problems, researchers used a model of Discovery Learning as problem solving. In order to get a general problem formulation which is how the implementation of the model discovery learning in science subjects the material properties of light to improve science process skills fifth grade students of State Elementary School 3 Cibodas? With the formulation of the problem in particular: How does the implementation of the Natural Sciences learning material properties of light in the fifth grade through the application of the discovery learning? And how do they increase students' science process skills in the subjects of Natural Sciences material properties of the light in the fifth grade through the application of the discovery learning ?. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview implementation of the Natural Sciences learning material properties of the light in the class fifth by applying the model discovery learning and knowing increase students' science process skills in the subjects of Natural Sciences of light material properties in the model class fifth after applying the discovery learning. The research method used in this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart and implemented as much of three cycles. The instruments used include tests of Science Process Skills, field notes and observation sheets. Data processing includes processing data that are qualitative and quantitative. The results obtained after the research was an increase in the ability of Science Process Skill students, in the first cycle the average value obtained with the percentage of students that is 72.18 completeness of 87.10%, the second cycle of the average value obtained at 77.97 with the percentage of completeness was 93.75% while the third cycle the average value obtained was 81.72 students with the percentage of completeness reached 96.88%. This research can form the positive contribution for teachers, students, schools and further research in applying the model of Discovery Learning in an effort to improve science learning Science Process Skills Students Keywords: Discovery Learning, Science Process Skills
