Sherly Rosmaida, - (2025) PEMETAAN PERUBAHAN LUASAN VEGETASI MANGROVE DI DESA TANJUNG PASIR, KABUPATEN TANGERANG, PROVINSI BANTEN. S1 thesis, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Abstract
Mangroves are important coastal ecosystems that not only serve as natural protection against abrasion and waves, but also face serious pressure from land conversion and human activities. These conditions necessitate the mapping and monitoring of mangrove vegetation, including in Tanjung Pasir Village, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province. This study aims to map changes in mangrove vegetation area in the region from 2020 to 2024. In addition, this study also analyzed the level of vegetation density based on the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) index and assessed the vulnerability of mangroves to environmental pressures. The methods used include processing Sentinel-2A satellite images through the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform, land cover classification using the Random Forest algorithm, and spatial analysis of EVI-based mangrove density. Validation of the classification results was conducted by field survey and calculation of the error matrix. The results showed that the total area of mangrove vegetation increased by 12.67 hectares (18.79%) from 2020 to 2024. The dense mangrove class increased most significantly from 46.03 hectares to 65.26 hectares. Based on spatial analysis, the mangrove vegetation area in 2024 covers about 14.71% of the total study area, which is still classified as damaged according to KepMENLH No. 201 Year 2004. The classification accuracy test results showed an Overall Accuracy value of 89.42% and Kappa Coefficient of 0.87. This research shows that there is a recovery of mangrove vegetation in the study area, mainly through an increase in dense mangrove density, although the overall condition still requires further attention. These results are expected to inform planning for sustainable mangrove management and rehabilitation in coastal areas.
