    Abstract

    Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan dengan keanekaragaman hayati tinggi, salah satu kekayaan alamnya merupakan terumbu karang yang melimpah, yang berperan penting sebagai habitat berbagai spesies laut dan penyangga ekosistem pesisir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendalami struktur komunitas karang keras di Pulau Peucang Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon untuk memperoleh informasi terbaru mengenai kondisinya. Penelitian ini meliputi tutupan karang keras, indeks ekologi, dan korelasi parameter oseanografi dengan tutupan karang keras. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Undewater Photo Transect (UPT) dengan pengambilan data pada lima stasiun pengamatan. Parameter yang diukur meliputi suhu, salinitas, potential of hydrogen (pH), dan oksigen terlarut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genus karang keras didominasi genus Acropora (1372 individu) serta tutupan genus karang keras tertinggi diperoleh nilai 63,62% sedangkan terendah memiliki nilai 25,94 %. Indeks keanekaragaman (H') tertinggi diperoleh nilai 1,133 sedangkan terendah memiliki nilai 0,855, yang menunjukkan variasi H' komunitas sedang. Indeks keseragaman (E) berada pada rentang 0,411 - 0,573 yang menunjukkan nilai keseragaman karang rendah. Indeks dominansi (C) berada pada rentang 0,337 - 0,492 yang meunjukkan dominasi karang rendah. Analisis korelasi antara parameter oseanografi dengan tutupan karang menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat. Indonesia as an archipelagic country with high biodiversity, one of its natural resources is abundant coral reefs, which play an important role as a habitat for various marine species and buffer coastal ecosystems. This study aims to explore the structure of the hard coral community on Peucang Island, Ujung Kulon National Park to obtain the latest information on its condition. This study includes hard coral cover, ecological index, and correlation of oceanographic parameters with hard coral cover. The method used is the Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) with data collection at five observation stations. The parameters measured include temperature, salinity, hydrogen potential (pH), and dissolved oxygen. The results showed that the hard coral genus dominated by the Acropora genus (1372 individuals) and the highest hard coral genus cover obtained a value of 63.62 % while the lowest had a value of 25.94 %. The highest diversity index (H') obtained a value of 1.133 while the lowest had a value of 0.855, which indicates a moderate variation in H' community. The uniformity index (E) ranged from 0.411 to 0.573, indicating low coral uniformity. The dominance index (C) ranged from 0.337 to 0.492, indicating low coral dominance. Correlation analysis between oceanographic parameters and coral cover showed a strong relationship.
