    Abstract

    Perubahan tutupan lahan merupakan fenomena yang umum terjadi di kota-kota besar di Indonesia, termasuk Kota Bandung. Pesatnya urbanisasi menyebabkan alih fungsi lahan hijau menjadi kawasan permukiman dan industri, yang berdampak langsung terhadap peningkatan suhu permukaan lahan dan kenyamanan termal masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara perubahan tutupan vegetasi dan peningkatan suhu permukaan lahan (Land Surface Temperature/LST) di Kota Bandung pada tahun 2003, 2013, dan 2023, serta implikasinya terhadap fenomena Urban Heat Island (UHI). Data yang digunakan berupa citra satelit Landsat yang diolah menggunakan teknologi Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dan penginderaan jauh untuk memetakan perubahan LST dan tutupan vegetasi melalui indeks NDVI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam penggunaan lahan untuk permukiman dan industri, disertai penurunan luas vegetasi dan ruang terbuka hijau (RTH). Vegetasi yang sempat meningkat pada tahun 2013 kembali menurun di tahun 2023, mencerminkan tekanan kuat dari alih fungsi lahan. Peningkatan suhu paling mencolok terjadi pada rentang suhu tinggi (28,7–36,5°C), khususnya di wilayah padat bangunan dan minim vegetasi. Penurunan vegetasi berkontribusi besar terhadap kenaikan suhu karena vegetasi berperan sebagai penyejuk alami dan pengatur iklim mikro. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pembangunan berkelanjutan melalui perlindungan dan penambahan RTH, serta pemanfaatan SIG dan penginderaan jauh sebagai alat pemantau lingkungan. Land cover change is a common phenomenon in major cities across Indonesia, including Bandung City. Rapid urbanization has led to the conversion of green spaces into residential and industrial areas, directly impacting land surface temperature (LST) and thermal comfort for urban residents. This study aims to analyze the relationship between vegetation cover change and the increase in LST in Bandung City over the years 2003, 2013, and 2023, as well as its implications for the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect. The data used are Landsat satellite imagery processed using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and remote sensing to map changes in LST and vegetation cover through the NDVI index. The results show a significant increase in land use for settlements and industry, accompanied by a decrease in vegetation and green open spaces (RTH). Although vegetation temporarily increased in 2013, it declined again by 2023, indicating strong pressure from land use conversion. The most noticeable rise in surface temperature occurred in the high-temperature range (28.7–36.5°C), especially in densely built-up areas with minimal vegetation. The significant reduction in vegetation greatly contributes to the temperature increase, as vegetation serves as a natural cooler by absorbing solar heat and regulating local microclimates. Therefore, sustainable development strategies are needed through the protection and addition of green spaces, as well as the utilization of GIS and remote sensing as tools to monitor land and temperature changes.
