Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pengetahuan dan percaya diri siswa dalam mengungkapkan ide atau gagasan, model pembelajaran yang tidak cocok, dan lemahnya pemahaman siswa mengenai struktur dan kaidah teks eksposisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks eksposisi di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebelum menggunakan model TTW, 2) mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks eksposisi di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sesudah menggunakan model TTW, dan 3) membuktikan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa menulis teks eksposisi di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model TTW. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian Prates-Pascates Control Group Design. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 9 Bandung dengan subjek penelitian kelas X IIS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X IIS 1 sebagai kelas kontrol yang masing-masing berjumlah 25 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, diperoleh thitung (3,88) > ttabel (2,011). Hasil tersebut dapat dinyatakan bahwa hipotesis H_aditerima dan H_o ditolak atau dengan kata lain terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks ekpsosisi yang menggunakan model TTW dan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks eksposisi yang menggunakan pembelajaran terlangsung. Kata kunci : menulis tek ekposisi, model TTW, eksperimen This research is motivated by the student knowledge and self confidence of expressing ideas or concept was low, learning model was not suitable, and weak students understanding about the structure and rules of exposition text. The purpose of this study were: 1) to know the ability students of writing exposition text in the experiment class and control class before using TTW model, 2) to know the ability students of writing exposition text in the experiment class and control class after using TTW model, and 3) proves there are significant differences between the ability students of writing exposition text in the experiment class and control class before and after using model TTW. Method in this research is quasi-experiment research with pretest-posttest control group design. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 9 Bandung with research subjects of class X IIS 2 as the experiment class and X IIS 1 as control class which amounts to 25 people each. Based on the result of hypothesis test, got thitung (3,88) > ttabel (2,011). That result show that H_a hypothesis accepted and H_o rejected or with the other words that there are significant differences between the ability students of writing exposition text which using TTW model and the ability students of writing exposition text which using direct learning.
