Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan media puzzle dalam pembelajaran IPS untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada peserta didik kelas V. Latar belakang penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R&D (research & development) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas V yang terdiri dari 32 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, tes (pretest dan posttest), dan angket. Hasil dari validasi pengembangan media menujukan pada kategori sangat layak, hasil dari respon peserta didik menunjukan pada kategori sangat layak dan peningkatan nilai posttest yang signifikan bahwa media puzzle termasuk pada kategori cukup efektif. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media puzzle dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar, media pembelajaran berbasis puzzle dapat berimplikasi pada kemampuan peserta didik lebih mengetahui materi penyebaran flora dan fauna serta peserta didik lebih aktif menjawab dan bertanya pada saat pembelajaran. This study aims to determine the development of puzzle media in social studies learning to improve critical thinking skills in fifth grade students. The background of this study is the low critical thinking skills of students in social studies learning. This study uses the R&D (research & development) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students consisting of 32 students. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, tests (pretest and posttest), and questionnaires. The results of the validation of media development showed a very feasible category, the results of student responses showed a very feasible category and a significant increase in posttest scores that puzzle media was included in the fairly effective category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that puzzle media can be used to improve students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning in elementary schools, puzzle-based learning media can have implications for students' ability to better understand the material on the distribution of flora and fauna and students are more active in answering and asking questions during learning.
