Abstract
Penalaran proporsional merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang perlu dikembangkan di sekolah menengah karena penalaran proporsional memungkinkan siswa untuk menggabungkan pengetahuan yang diperolehnya di sekolah dasar dan membangun pondasi untuk matematika di sekolah menengah dan penalaran aljabar. Adapun self-efficacy merujuk pada kepercayaan diri seseorang dalam menyelesaikan tugas tertentu. Berdasarkan data penelitian, kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa SMP ditinjau dari tingkat self-efficacy. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025 di SMP Negeri 20 Bandung yang telah mendapat pembelajaran pada materi perbandingan. Data diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan penalaran proporsional, angket self-efficacy dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa dengan self-efficacy rendah kemampuan penalaran proporsionalnya belum berkembang. Secara umum, siswa dengan self-efficacy rendah belum mampu memahami hubungan nilai-nilai dalam situasi proporsional. Siswa dengan self-efficacy sedang sudah mulai mampu mengidentifikasi hubungan antar nilai pada situasi proporsional sederhana tetapi belum mampu menerapkan konsep proporsi pada situasi yang bersifat kompleks dan tidak familiar. Sedangkan siswa dengan self-efficacy tinggi menunjukkan kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan cukup baik dalam penalaran proporsional. Proportional reasoning is one of the skills that need to be developed in secondary schools because it allows students to combine knowledge acquired in elementary school and build a foundation for high school mathematics and algebraic reasoning. Self-efficacy refers to a person's confidence in completing a particular task. Based on research data, students' proportional reasoning abilities are still relatively low. This study aims to describe junior high school students' proportional reasoning abilities in terms of their self-efficacy levels. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects in this study were seventh-grade students in the 2024/2025 academic year at SMP Negeri 20 Bandung who had received learning on comparison material. Data were obtained through proportional reasoning ability tests, self-efficacy questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed that students with low self-efficacy have not developed their proportional reasoning skills. In general, students with low self-efficacy are unable to understand the relationships between quantities in proportional situations. Students with moderate self-efficacy have begun to be able to identify relationships between values in simple proportional situations but are unable to apply the concept of proportion to complex and unfamiliar situations. Meanwhile, students with high self-efficacy demonstrate confidence and fairly good abilities in proportional reasoning.
