Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan panjang-berat dan pola pertumbuhan enam spesies ikan bycatch dan discard, yaitu peperek bondolan, lemuru, kembung, teri nasi, selar berang, dan teri jengki, yang tertangkap di perairan Pulau Sebesi, Lampung Selatan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling untuk mendapatkan data dari hasil tangkapan nelayan, kemudian diidentifikasi secara morfologi dan diukur panjang serta berat tubuhnya. Analisis hubungan panjang-berat dilakukan dengan regresi logaritmik untuk memperoleh nilai konstanta a, b, dan koefisien determinasi (R²) sehingga dapat diketahui jenis pola pertumbuhan masing-masing spesies. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kesamaan pada nilai b antarspesies yang mengindikasikan adanya pertumbuhan allometrik negatif. Spesies bernilai ekonomis seperti selar berang dan kembung tergolong bycatch dan dimanfaatkan, sedangkan spesies dengan nilai pasar rendah cenderung termasuk discard. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa analisis panjang-berat dapat memberikan informasi biologis yang penting dalam pengelolaan sumber daya ikan bycatch dan discard di Pulau Sebesi secara berkelanjutan. ; This study aims to analyze the length-weight relationship and growth patterns of six species of bycatch and discard fish, namely peperek bondolan, lemuru, kembung, teri nasi, selar berang, and teri jengki, caught in the waters of Sebesi Island, South Lampung. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling to obtain data from fishermen's catches, which were then identified morphologically and measured for length and weight. Length-weight relationships were analyzed using logarithmic regression to obtain the values of constants a, b, and the coefficient of determination (R²), thereby determining the growth patterns of each species. The results showed similarity in the b values across species, indicating negative allometric growth. Economically valuable species such as selar berang and kembung are classified as bycatch and utilized, while species with low market value tend to be discarded. These findings confirm that length-weight analysis can provide important biological information for the sustainable management of bycatch and discard fish resources in Sebesi Island.
