Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru, dampak pembelajaran STEAM, faktor yang perlu diperhatikan, serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam mengenalkan keterampilan kepemimpinan dan tanggung jawab pada anak usia dini melalui pembelajaran STEAM. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah anak-anak berusia 5-6 tahun dan guru di TK Labschool UPI Purwakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan desain concurrent embedded, di mana dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan Skala Guttman, kemudian data kualitatif dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi empat tahapan, yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan dan verifikasi kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru berperan sebagai fasilitator, perancang, sekaligus pembimbing yang menciptakan tahapan pembelajaran STEAM secara terstruktur sehingga mampu meningkatkan keterampilan sosial-emosional anak, termasuk kemampuan memimpin kelompok, mengambil keputusan, dan bertanggung jawab terhadap tugas. Keberhasilan ini didukung oleh faktor perkembangan individu anak, suasana belajar yang nyaman, metode pembelajaran yang fleksibel, dan pemberian apresiasi, meskipun terdapat tantangan berupa perbedaan kematangan sosial anak, konflik kelompok, keterbatasan sarana, serta waktu yang terbatas. Dengan strategi pendampingan yang tepat, pembelajaran STEAM terbukti efektif menanamkan keterampilan kepemimpinan dan tanggung jawab serta relevan untuk mendukung pengembangan keterampilan abad ke-21. ----- This study aims to describe the role of teachers, the impact of STEAM learning, factors that need to be considered, and challenges faced in introducing leadership skills and responsibility to early childhood through STEAM learning. The participants of this study were children aged 5-6 years and teachers at Labschool UPI Purwakarta Kindergarten. The method used is a mixed method with a concurrent embedded design, where data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data is analyzed using the Guttman Scale, while qualitative data is analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The research findings indicate that teachers act as facilitators, designers, and mentors who create structured STEAM learning stages, thereby enhancing children's social-emotional skills, including the ability to lead groups, make decisions, and take responsibility for tasks. This success is supported by factors such as children's individual development, a comfortable learning environment, flexible learning methods, and appreciation, despite challenges such as differences in children's social maturity, group conflicts, limited resources, and time constraints. With the right mentoring strategies, STEAM learning has proven to be effective in instilling leadership and responsibility skills and is relevant to supporting the development of 21st-century skills.
