Abstract

Remaja merupakan masa transisi menuju dewasa yang ditandai dengan eksplorasi identitas, termasuk dalam aspek seksual sehingga perilaku seksual pranikah kerapkali dianggap wajar. Banyak penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku seksual dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan eksternal seperti kontrol diri dan komunikasi seksual orang tua-anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji apakah terdapat pengaruh kontrol diri dan komunikasi seksual orang-tua remaja berkontribusi terhadap perilaku seksual pranikah pada remaja akhir di Kota Bandung. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik non probability sampling dengan pendekatan convenience sampling. Partisipan dalam peneltian ini mencakup remaja berusia 18-22 tahun di Kota Bandung. Pada penelitian ini digunakan tiga instrumen, yaitu Instrumen Perilaku Seksual Pranikah yang telah diadaptasi dan dimodifikasi oleh Citta (2020), The Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS) dari Tangney, Baumeister, dan Boone (2004) dan telah diadaptasi oleh Arifin dan Milla (2020), serta Sexual Communication Scale (SCS) yang disusun oleh Somers dan Canivez (2003) dan telah diadaptasi oleh Khairunnisa (2021). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan software IBM SPSS 22.0 dengan menggunakan analisis data regresi liner sederhana dan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif kontrol diri dan komunikasi seksual ibu dengan remaja terhadap perilaku seksual pranikah dan terdapat pengaruh negatif kontrol diri dan komunikasi seksual antara ayah dengan remaja terhadap perilaku seksual pranikah. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk mengkaji kelekatan remaja dengan ayah dan ibu melihat kaitannya dengan komunikasi seksual orang tua-remaja. Selain itu, penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan mempertimbangkan kondisi tinggal responden, mengingat interaksi dapat dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan anggota keluarga lain seperti kakek, nenek, atau saudara. Adolescence is a period of transition to adulthood, characterized by a period of exploration of identity, including the sexual aspect. Premarital sexual behavior is often considered normal during this developmental stage. A substantial body of research has demonstrated that sexual behavior can be influenced by a variety of internal and external factors, including self-control and the quality of sexual communication between parents and their children. The objective of this study is to examine the role of self-control and parent-adolescent sexual communication in the development of premarital sexual behavior among late adolescents in Bandung City. The present study employs quantitative methodologies, leveraging non-probability sampling techniques and a convenience sampling approach. The participants of this study included adolescents aged 18-22 years residing in Bandung City. The present study employed three instruments: the Premarital Sexual Behaviour Instrument, adapted and modified by Citta (2020); the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS), developed by Tangney, Baumeister, and Boone (2004) and adapted by Arifin and Milla (2020); and the Sexual Communication Scale (SCS), compiled by Somers and Canivez (2003) and adapted by Khairunnisa (2021). The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 22.0 software, employing both simple linear regression and multiple linear regression data analysis. The results of this study indicate that: The present study sought to examine the relationship between self-control and sexual communication between mothers and adolescents on one hand, and premarital sexual behavior on the other. The findings indicated a negative influence of self-control and sexual communication between mothers and adolescents on premarital sexual behavior.
