    Abstract

    Fenomena meningkatnya intensitas bermain permainan daring di kalangan anak-anak menjadi perhatian serius dalam dunia pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak permainan daring Free Fire terhadap motivasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar di rumah. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi, data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam kepada siswa sekolah dasar yang bermain game online dengan kategori selalu dan angket bagi orang tua serta dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian meliputi 13 siswa sekolah dasar yang termasuk ke dalam kategori selalu dalam bermain game online Free Fire dan 2 orang tua siswa sekolah dasar. Kategori selalu merupakan kategori intensitas siswa bermain game online Free Fire yaitu lebih dari dua jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan Free Fire mempengaruhi kesehatan fisik dan mental (mata lelah, kelelahan tubuh, emosi mudah tersulut), menurunkan minat belajar, mengganggu daya ingat, serta melemahkan kemandirian dan tanggung jawab akademik. Meski demikian, sebagian siswa mampu mengatur waktu bermain sehingga tetap memiliki motivasi belajar di rumah yang baik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengawasan orang tua dan pembatasan durasi bermain untuk mengurangi dampak negatif terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Kata Kunci: free fire, motivasi belajar, permainan daring, siswa sekolah dasar The phenomenon of increasing online gaming intensity among children has become a serious concern in the field of education. This study aims to analyze the impact of the online game Free Fire on the learning motivation of elementary school students at home. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with elementary students who frequently play online games and questionnaires distributed to parents, then analyzed descriptively in a qualitative manner. The research subjects consisted of 13 elementary school students categorized as frequent players of Free Fire—defined as playing for more than two hours daily—and 2 parents of the students. The findings revealed that playing Free Fire affects students’ physical and mental health (such as eye strain, physical fatigue, and heightened emotional reactions), decreases interest in learning, disrupts memory retention, and weakens independence and academic responsibility. Nevertheless, some students were able to manage their playtime effectively, allowing them to maintain good learning motivation at home. Therefore, parental supervision and limiting playtime are necessary to reduce the negative impacts of online gaming on students’ learning motivation.
