Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih dominannya pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di sekolah dasar dengan pendekatan konvensional, seperti ceramah dan penggunaan buku teks, sehingga aktivitas belajar siswa cenderung monoton dan kurang bervariasi. Padahal, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi terhadap penggunaan media berbasis teknologi yang interaktif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pop-up book digital yang diberi nama Digital Culture Pop-Up Book (D-CULT PUB) yang mengakomodasi berbagai aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi keragaman budaya Indonesia berdasarkan teori Paul B. Diedrich. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang mencakup tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 36 siswa kelas IVA dan IVB SDN Sindang II. Media yang dikembangkan telah melalui uji kelayakan dan kepraktisan. Hasil validasi memperoleh kategori “sangat layak” dengan rata-rata persentase 94% dari ahli materi dan 89% dari ahli media. Sementara itu, uji kepraktisan menunjukkan rata-rata persentase sebesar 92% pada uji coba perorangan, 94% pada uji coba kelompok kecil, dan 95% pada uji coba kelompok besar, menempatkan media dalam kategori “sangat praktis”. Selain itu, media yang dikembangkan mampu mengakomodasi delapan jenis aktivitas belajar, yaitu aktivitas visual, lisan, mendengarkan, menulis, menggambar, motorik, mental, dan emosional. Dengan demikian, media Digital Culture Pop-Up Book (D-CULT PUB) dinilai layak, praktis, serta selaras dengan teori Paul B. Diedrich yang menekankan pentingnya keterlibatan beragam aktivitas belajar untuk mendukung pembelajaran aktif dan bermakna. This research was motivated by the predominance of conventional approaches, such as lectures and textbook use, in Sosial Studies learning at elementary level, resulting in monotonous and less varied student learning activities. In fact, students have shown high enthusiasm toward the use of interactive technology-based media learning. This study aimed to develop a digital pop-up book named the Digital Culture Pop-Up Book (D-CULT PUB) that accommodates various student learning activities on the topic of Indonesia’s cultural diversity, based on Paul B. Diedrich’s theory, the method used was Research and Development (R&D) with ADDIE model, covering analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subject were 36 fourth-grade students at SDN Sindang II. The developed media underwent feasibility and practicality testing. Validation result indicated that media fell into “high feasible” category, with an average percentage of 94% from material experts and 89% from media experts. Meanwhile, practicality tests showed average percentages of 92% in individual trial, 94% in small group trials, and 95% in large group trials, categorizing the media as “high practical”. Moreover, the developed media was proven to accommodate eight types of learning activities: visual, verbal, listening, writing, drawing, motor, mental, and emotional activities. Thus, the Digital Culture Pop-Up Book (D-c-CULT PUB) is considered feasible, practical, ang aligned with Paul B. Diedrich’s theory, which emphasizes the importance of engaging various learning activities to support active and meaningful learning.
