Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat baca siswa sekolah dasar yang masih menjadi persoalan mendasar dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Upaya meningkatkan minat baca perlu dilakukan melalui strategi inovatif yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa. Salah satu alternatif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penerapan metode Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) berbantuan media komik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode CDA berbantuan media komik terhadap minat baca siswa kelas V SD dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimental tipe nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode CDA dengan media komik dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket minat baca dengan indikator perhatian, motivasi, kebiasaan membaca, dan keterlibatan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Siswa pada kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan minat baca yang lebih tinggi, terlihat dari peningkatan skor rata-rata angket. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) berbantuan komik efektif dalam membangkitkan kemampuan membaca sekaligus membantu siswa memahami teks secara kritis. ----- This research is motivated by the low interest in reading of elementary school students which is still a fundamental problem in learning Indonesian. Efforts to increase reading interest need to be carried out through innovative strategies that suit the characteristics of students. One of the alternatives used in this study is the application of the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method assisted by comic media. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of the comic mediaassisted CDA method on the reading interest of grade V elementary school students in Indonesian language learning. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consists of two classes, namely the experimental class that uses the CDA method with comic media and the control class that uses the conventional method. The instrument used was a reading interest questionnaire with indicators of attention, motivation, reading habits, and student involvement. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Students in the experimental class experienced a higher increase in reading interest, as seen from the increase in the average score of the questionnaire. These findings show that the comic-assisted Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method is effective in generating reading skills while helping students understand texts critically.
