Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan peserta didik dalam memahami urutan operasi hitung campuran dan menyelesaikan soal cerita, serta terbatasnya media pembelajaran yang menarik dan sesuai dengan perkembangan kognitif mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media komik matematika pada materi operasi hitung campuran bilangan cacah di kelas IV. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari tahap analyze, design, develop, implement, dan evaluate. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi dokumen, penilaian ahli, serta angket tanggapan peserta didik dan pendidik, kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media komik matematika memperoleh persentase kelayakan keseluruhan sebesar 95% dari ahli materi dan 92% dari ahli media, keduanya termasuk kategori sangat valid. Tanggapan peserta didik menunjukkan tingkat penerimaan sebesar 93% pada uji coba kelompok kecil dan 90% pada uji coba kelompok besar, sedangkan pendidik memberikan tanggapan dengan tingkat penerimaan sebesar 99%, ketiganya termasuk kategori sangat diterima. Komentar dan saran dari peserta didik maupun pendidik menegaskan bahwa media komik ini dinilai menarik, mudah dipahami, dan membantu pemahaman konsep operasi hitung campuran bilangan cacah, dengan saran penambahan jumlah soal serta perpanjangan halaman dari peserta didik, sementara pendidik menilai beberapa soal cerita kompleks memerlukan pendampingan. Dengan demikian, media komik matematika ini layak digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran di kelas IV karena memenuhi kriteria validitas dan keterterimaan yang tinggi, meskipun masih terdapat ruang untuk penyempurnaan pada aspek jumlah soal, panjang halaman, dan penyajian soal cerita kompleks. This study was motivated by the difficulties students face in understanding mixed arithmetic operations and solving word problems, as well as the limited availability of engaging learning media that is appropriate for their cognitive development. The purpose of this study was to develop mathematical comic media for mixed arithmetic operations with whole numbers in fourth grade. The method used was research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, document studies, expert assessments, and student and teacher feedback questionnaires, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study indicate that the mathematics comic media achieved an overall acceptability rate of 95% from subject matter experts and 92% from media experts, both of which fall into the highly valid category. Student responses showed an acceptance rate of 93% in the small-group trial and 90% in the large-group trial, while educators provided responses with an acceptance rate of 99%, all of which fall into the highly accepted category. Comments and suggestions from both students and educators emphasized that this comic media was considered interesting, easy to understand, and helpful in understanding the concept of mixed arithmetic operations with whole numbers. Students suggested increasing the number of questions and extending the number of pages, while educators noted that some complex story problems required guidance. Thus, this mathematics comic medium is suitable for use as an alternative learning medium in fourth grade because it meets the criteria for high validity and acceptability, although there is still room for improvement in terms of the number of questions, page length, and presentation of complex story problems.
