    Abstract

    Penelitian ini berfokus pada redesain produk tabir lounge chair dari Indospace Group, sebuah perusahaan furnitur global yang berpusat di Semarang. Produk ini mengalami penjualan terendah dibanding produk lounge chair lainnya dalam satu tahun terakhir. Penyebab utama adalah gaya desain klasik yang tidak sesuai dengan preferensi pasar yang mengarah pada konsep minimalis modern. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan desain Tabir Lounge Chair dengan pendekatan konsep minimalis modern untuk meningkatkan daya tarik visual, kenyamanan, serta fungsionalitas produk sesuai market minimalis modern, khususnya di kota Jakarta Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah mix method dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif, meliputi deep interview, studi eksisting, kuesioner, dan studi literatur. Human Centered Design diterapkan sebagai metode perancangan dengan 5 tahapan yaitu discover, define, design, prototype dan test. Adapun analisis SWOT digunakan untuk menggali kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman terhadap produk tabir lounge chair. Hasil akhir berupa Lounge Chair yang mengusung bentuk geometris sederhana, material kayu jati berkualitas tinggi, dan fitur tambahan berupa meja/tray yang dapat dilepas pasang. Prototipe diuji kepada pengguna dengan hasil respons positif dari segi visual, ergonomi, fungsi dan kualitas. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aspek kenyamanan, visual, dan fungsional produk dinilai sangat baik dan selaras dengan gaya hidup minimalis modern. This research focuses on the redesign of the Tabir Lounge Chair from Indospace Group, a global furniture company headquartered in Semarang. The product recorded the lowest sales among other lounge chairs over the past year. The main cause is its classic design style, which does not align with market preferences that are shifting toward a modern minimalist concept. Therefore, this study aims to develop the Tabir Lounge Chair design with a modern minimalist approach to enhance its visual appeal, comfort, and functionality in accordance with the minimalist market, particularly in South Jakarta. The research employs a mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative methods, including deep interviews, existing product studies, questionnaires, and literature reviews. Human-Centered Design is applied as the design framework with five stages: discover, define, design, prototype, and test. SWOT analysis is used to explore the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the Tabir Lounge Chair product. The final result is a lounge chair with a simple geometric form, high-quality teak wood material, and an additional detachable table/tray feature. The prototype was tested with users, resulting in positive feedback in terms of visual appeal, ergonomics, functionality, and quality. This research demonstrates that the comfort, visual, and functional aspects of the product are rated highly and align with the modern minimalist lifestyle.
