    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pendekatan STEM berpengaruh pada keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas 4 di sebuah sekolah dasar di Purwakarta. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya tingkat kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran IPAS secara konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Subjek penelitian adalah 24 siswa dari kelas IV A dan 24 siswa dari kelas IV B. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa soal uraian yang mencakup empat indikator berpikir kreatif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak IBM SPSS, dengan menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, korelasi Pearson, dan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada kelompok eksperimen meningkat dari 44,58 menjadi 85,46, dan dari 48,54 menjadi 71,25 pada kelompok kontrol. Koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,322 menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan STEM memberikan kontribusi sebesar 32,2% terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa. Kesimpulannya, penerapan pendekatan STEM efektif dalam meningkatkan kreativitas dalam pembelajaran IPAS. ----- This study aims to examine the extent to which the STEM approach influences the creative thinking skills of fourth-grade students at an elementary school in Purwakarta. The research was motivated by the low level of student creativity observed in conventional Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (IPAS) learning. A quasi-experimental method was employed, utilizing a non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects comprised 24 students from Class IV A and 24 students from Class IV B. The data collection instrument consisted of open-ended test items covering four indicators of creative thinking. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS software, applying normality, homogeneity, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression tests. The results indicated that the average creative thinking score in the experimental group increased from 44.58 to 85.46, while the control group score rose from 48.54 to 71.25. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.322 suggests that the STEM approach contributed 32.2% to the improvement of students’ creative thinking skills. In conclusion, the implementation of the STEM approach is effective in enhancing creativity in IPAS learning.
