Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan bahwa bahan ajar yang digunakan masih terbatas pada buku teks konvensional. Materi yang disajikan dalam bahan ajar kurang mendetail dan guru masih menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang bersifat konvensional. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis pendekatan open-ended dengan muatan productive struggle pada materi bilangan cacah, khususnya operasi hitung perkalian. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Educational Design Research (EDR), yang dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan utama, yaitu: (1) analisis dan eksplorasi; (2) desain dan konstruksi; serta (3) evaluasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, observasi, studi dokumentasi, validasi ahli, angket respons peserta didik dan pendidik. Hasil uji kelayakan berdasarkan validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa ahli materi memberikan nilai sebesar 84,09%, ahli pedagogik sebesar 84,62%, dan ahli desain sebesar 92,65%. Ketiga hasil validasi tersebut berada pada kategori layak dan sangat layak. Oleh karena itu, bahan ajar ini dapat digunakan lebih lanjut dan diujicobakan dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas IV. Selanjutnya, uji kepraktisan dilakukan melalui dua tahap uji coba. Pada tahap uji coba pertama, diperoleh persentase respons peserta didik sebesar 91,03% dan respons pendidik sebesar 94,12%. Sementara itu, pada tahap uji coba kedua, respons peserta didik mencapai 98,46% dan respons pendidik sebesar 95,59%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, produk akhir penelitian ini berupa bahan ajar berbasis pendekatan open-ended dengan muatan productive struggle dinyatakan layak dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. This research is motivated by findings that the teaching materials used are still limited to conventional textbooks. The content presented in these materials lacks detail, and teachers continue to employ traditional teaching approaches. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials based on an open-ended approach incorporating productive struggle for whole number operations, specifically multiplication. The research design used is Educational Design Research (EDR), which is carried out through three main stages: (1) analysis and exploration; (2) design and construction; and (3) evaluation and reflection. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, document studies, expert validation, as well as student and teacher response questionnaires. The feasibility test results based on expert validation show that the material expert provided a score of 84.09%, the pedagogical expert 84.62%, and the design expert 92.65%. All three validation results fall into the feasible to highly feasible categories. Therefore, these teaching materials can be further utilized and tested in fourth-grade mathematics learning. Furthermore, practicality testing was conducted through two stages of trials. In the first trial, student responses reached 91.03%, and teacher responses 94.12%. In the second trial, student responses increased to 98.46%, and teacher responses reached 95.59%. Based on these results, the developed teaching materials are categorized as highly practical. Thus, the final product of this research teaching materials based on an open-ended approach with productive struggle is declared feasible and practical for use in elementary school mathematics instruction.
