Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh masih terbatasnya studi mengenai efektivitas metode pembelajaran inovatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa sekolah dasar, padahal kemampuan ini memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap keberhasilan belajar siswa di jenjang awal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah; 1) Untuk Mengetahui pengaruh Metode Struktur Analitik Sintetik (SAS) berbantuan media Book Creator terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I; 2) Untuk Mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I SD Negeri Cempaka Baru 12 melalui penerapan Metode Struktur Analitik Sintetik (SAS) berbantuan media Book Creator dibandingkan dengan Metode Eja. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design, dengan sampel berjumlah 64 siswa kelas I yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan membaca permulaan dan dianalisis menggunakan uji-t, N-Gain Score, dan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil analisis data tersebut menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh sebesesar 64,8% pada kelas eksperimen, terdapat perbedaan peningkatan sebesar 0,76 yang termasuk kategori tinggi pada kelas eksperimen dan 0,40 kategori sedang pada kelas kontrol. Dalam penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa; 1) Metode SAS Berbantuan Media Book Creator berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa; 2) Peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa yang memperoleh penerapan metode SAS berbantuan media Book Creator lebih baik dibanding siswa yang memperoleh penerapan metode Eja dengan media konvensional. ----- This study is motivated by the limited research on the effectiveness of innovative learning methods in improving primary school students' beginning reading skills, despite the significant impact this ability has on students' learning success at the early level. The objectives of this study are; 1) Knowing the effect of the Synthetic Analytical Structural Method (SAS) assisted by Book Creator media on improving the beginning reading skills of grade I elementary school students; 2) Knowing the improvement of the first-grade students' beginning reading skills through the application of the Synthetic Analytical Structural Method (SAS) assisted by Book Creator media compared to the Spelling Method. The method employed was an experiment with a quasi-experimental research design and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, using a sample of 64 grade I students selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a beginning reading skill test and analyzed using t-Test, N-Gain Score, and simple linear regression. The results of the data analysis showed that there was a 64.8% effect in the experimental class, with a difference in improvement of 0.76, which fell into the high category, and 0.40 in the medium category in the control class. In this study, it can be concluded that; 1) The SAS method assisted by Book Creator Media affects improving students' beginning reading skills; 2) The improvement of students' beginning reading skills who obtained the application of the SAS method assisted by Book Creator media was better than students who obtained the application of the Spelling method with conventional media.
