Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul “Penerapan Model Collaborative Inquiry untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Memecahkan Masalah dan Prestasi Belajar Siswa SMP pada Pembelajaran Fisika” ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan memecahkan masalah dan prestasi belajar siswa setelah diterapkannya model collaborative inquiry. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-experiment dengan desain one group pre-test post-test design. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes formatif prestasi belajar, tes uraian kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model oleh guru dan siswa. Dari hasil analisis data, perolehan rata-rata gain ternormalisasi prestasi belajar sebesar 0,498 dengan kategori sedang. Kemudian rata-rata aspek kognitif C1 sebesar 0,628 dengan kategori sedang, aspek kognitif C2 sebesar 0,269 dengan kategori kurang, dan aspek kognitif C3 sebesar 0,667 dengan kategori sedang. Sementara itu, perolehan rata-rata kemampuan memecahkan masalah sebesar 0,551 dengan kategori sedang. Adapun rata-rata tiap tahapan kemampuan memecahkan masalah sebesar 0,563 untuk tahap memahami masalah dengan kategori sedang, tahap merencanakan pemecahan masalah sebesar 0,568 dengan kategori sedang, tahap melaksanakan pemecahan masalah sebesar 0,556 dengan kategori sedang dan tahap memeriksa kembali sebesar 0,513 dengan kategori sedang. Dengan demikian model collaborative inquiry dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah dan prestasi belajar siswa. This study entitled “Implementation of Collaborative Inquiry Model to Improve Problem Solving Ability and Student Achievement in Junior Physics Education” aims to find out the improvement of problem solving ability and student achievement after the collaborative inquiry model was applied. Quasy experiment with one group pre-test and post-test design was applied in this study. The data were collected through student achievement formative test, problem solving test, and teacher-student activity sheet observation. The result showed that the average normalized gain of student achievement at 0,498 with medium category. Then average of C1at 0,628 with medium category, of C2 at 0,269 with low category, and of C3 at 0,667 with medium category. Meanwhile the average achieved by the abylity to solve problem at 0,551 with medium category. The average of each stage of the problem solving phase is stage of understanding the problem at 0,563 with medium category, stage of devising a plan at 0,568 with medium category, stage of carrying out the plan at 0,556 with medium category, and stage of looking back at 0,513 with medium category. Thus collaborative inquiry model can be applied to improve problem solving ability and student achievement.
