    Abstract

    Pendidikan jasmani tidak hanya berperan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan fisik saja akan tetapi juga mampu meningkatkan kemampuan keterampilan sosial. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari bagaimana pendidikan jasmani mempengaruhi keterampilan sosial siswa sekolah dasar. Fokus utama penelitian ini untuk memahami bagaimana praktik keterampilan sosial selama pelajaran pendidikan jasmani serta kontribusi pendidikan jasmani dalam meningkatkan keterampilan sosial selama pelajaran pendidikan jasmani. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk pengumpulan data. Observasi dilakukan selama pelaksanaan pelajaran olahraga dengan mengidentifikasi aspek keterampilan sosial yang muncul yakni komunikasi, kerja sama, empati, toleransi dan adaptasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada tiga orang siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling dan guru pendidikan jasmani sebagai informan kunci. Wawancara dilakukan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman lebih mendalam terkait pengalaman subjek dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial pada pelajaran pendidikan jasmani. hasil menunjukkan pendidikan jasmani berperan dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Pelajaran pendidikan jasmani menjadi saran bagi siswa untuk berlatih mengembangkan keterampilan sosial siswa melalui pengalaman langsung. Pendidikan jasmani memberikan kontribusi dengan lingkungan yang mendukung baik dari guru yang memilih pendekatan selama pelajaran maupun adaptasi permainan yang dipilih. Akan tetapi penelitian juga menemukan hambatan dalam pengembangan keterampilan sosial seperti egosentris sosial dan eksklusi gender yang mengakibatkan perbedaan tingkat partisipasi gender. Implikasi dari penelitian ini akan menekankan pentingnya peran guru pendidikan jasmani dalam merancang pelajaran yang tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek fisik saja, melainkan juga menekankan pada penguatan keterampilan sosial. Physical education does not only play a role in improving physical abilities but is also able to improve social skills. This research aims to study how physical education affects the social skills of elementary school students. The main focus of this research is to understand how social skills are practiced during physical education lessons as well as the contribution of physical education in improving social skills during physical education lessons. The research was conducted using a qualitative case study approach with observation, interview and documentation techniques for data collection. Observations were made during the implementation of physical education lessons by identifying aspects of social skills that emerged, namely communication, cooperation, empathy, tolerance and adaptation. Interviews were conducted with three students selected using purposive sampling technique and physical education teachers as key informants. Interviews were conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the subject's experience in developing social skills in physical education lessons. The results show that physical education has a role in developing students' social skills. Physical education lessons provide a means for students to practice developing their social skills through hands-on experience. Physical education contributes with a supportive environment from both the teacher who chooses the approach during the lesson and the adaptation of the game chosen. However, the study also found barriers in the development of social skills such as social egocentrism and gender exclusion which resulted in different levels of gender participation. The implications of this study will emphasize the importance of the role of physical education teachers in designing lessons that not only focus on physical aspects, but also emphasize strengthening social skills.
