Abstract
Model numerik sering digunakan untuk menggambarkan kondisi laut dan atmosfer, namun hasilnya tidak selalu akurat karena keterbatasan dalam merepresentasikan kondisi nyata. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan proses asimilasi data dengan menggabungkan hasil model dan data observasi guna mengurangi ketidakpastian observasi dan kesalahan representasi model. Penelitian ini berfokus pada Selat Sunda, jalur maritim strategis dengan dinamika oseanografi kompleks yang dipengaruhi oleh angin. Tujuan penelitian adalah melakukan asimilasi data angin ASCAT dan ERA serta menganalisis pola angin sebelum dan sesudah asimilasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Ensemble Transform Kalman Filter (ETKF). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa asimilasi memberikan peningkatan akurasi, baik pada validasi dependen maupun independen. Nilai Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) menurun setelah melalui proses asimilasi. Pengujian dilakukan pada dua periode mewakili musim berbeda, yaitu 16 Agustus 2024 (musim timur) dan 17 Desember 2024 (musim barat). RMSE pada 16 Agustus sebesar 1.4040 m/s (komponen zonal) dan 0.8111 m/s (komponen meridional), sedangkan pada 17 Desember sebesar 1.0334 m/s (komponen zonal) dan 0.7453 m/s (komponen meridional). Pola angin hasil asimilasi juga menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan data observasi BMKG. Penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa asimilasi data meningkatkan akurasi model dan mengisi kekosongan data secara spasial. Numerical models are widely used to describe oceanic and atmospheric conditions; however, their results are not always accurate due to limitations in representing real-world conditions. Therefore, a data assimilation process is required by combining model outputs with observational data to reduce observational uncertainty and model representation errors. This study focuses on the Sunda Strait, a strategic maritime route with complex oceanographic dynamics influenced by wind. The objective is to assimilate ASCAT and ERA wind data and analyze wind patterns before and after assimilation. The method used is the Ensemble Transform Kalman Filter (ETKF). The results show improved accuracy through assimilation, both in dependent and independent validations. Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) values decreased after assimilation. Testing was conducted on two periods representing different monsoon seasons: 16 August 2024 (southeast monsoon) and 17 December 2024 (northwest monsoon). On 16 August, RMSE values were 1.4040 m/s (zonal component) and 0.8111 m/s (meridional component), while on 17 December, they were 1.0334 m/s (zonal component) and 0.7453 m/s (meridional component), respectively. The assimilated wind patterns showed better agreement with BMKG observational data. This study indicates that data assimilation improves model accuracy and lack of data spatially.
