Abstract
Penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan media flash card lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan konvensional direct instruction berbantuan media inforgrafis dan pengaruh pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan media flash card terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi eksperimen jenis non-equivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas IV A sebanyak 25 siswa dan kelas IV B sebanyak 25 siswa di SDN Empang 1 Kota Bogor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa mengalami peningkatan yang lebih signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Selain itu, diperoleh hasil bahwa pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan media flash card memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sebesar 68,3%. ----- This research is based on the low mathematical communication skills of students. The aim of this study is to determine the improvement of students’ mathematical communication skills using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach assisted by flash card media, compared to students using the conventional direct instruction approach assisted by infographic media, and the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach supported by flash card media on the mathematical communication skills of grade IV elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent control group design type. The research sample consisted of 25 students from class IV A and 25 students from class IV B at SDN Empang 1 in Bogor City. The results of the study showed that students' mathematical communication skills experienced a more significant increase in the experimental class compared to the control class. In addition, it was obtained that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach assisted by flash card media had an influence on students' mathematical communication skills by 68.3%.
