Abstract
Pemahaman konsep sains adalah salah satu pemahaman yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa. Namun, beberapa penelitian dan hasil TIMSS menyebutkan bahwa pemahaman konsep sains di Indonesia masih rendah. Salah satu untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan video dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan dan pengaruh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan video animasi terhadap pemahaman konsep sains siswa sekolah dasar pada mata pelajaran IPA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode Quasi Eksperimen. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V di salah satu sekolah dasar di Cikarang yang berjumlah 26 siswa dikelas eksperimen dan 26 siswa di kelas kontrol. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah instrumen tes pemahaman konsep sains dan non tes berupa aktivitas siswa pada saat pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian diperoleh peningkatan pemahaman konsep pada siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan CTL berbantuan video animasi N-Gain sebesar 0,30 dan pengaruh pendekatan CTL berbantuan video animasi terhadap pemahaman konsep sains siswa sebesar 30,9%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, pendekatan CTL berbantuan video animasi dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sains siswa sekolah dasar. ----- Understanding scientific concepts is one of the essential skills that students must possess. However, several studies and TIMSS results indicate that scientific concept understanding in Indonesia remains low. One way to address this issue is by implementing a video-assisted Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach in the learning process. This study aims to determine the improvement and impact of learning using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach with animated videos on elementary school students' understanding of science concepts in science lessons. This is a quantitative study using the quasi-experimental method. The population in this study was fourth-grade students at an elementary school in Cikarang, consisting of 26 students in the experimental class and 26 students in the control class. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling. The instruments used in this study were a science concept understanding test and non-test instruments in the form of student activities during the learning process. The results of the study showed an increase in concept understanding among students using the CTL approach assisted by N-Gain animated videos by 0.30 and a influence of the CTL approach assisted by animated videos on students' science concept understanding 30.9%. Based on these results, the CTL approach assisted by animated videos can be applied to improve elementary school students' science concept understanding.
