Abstract
Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis merupakan aspek penting yang harus dimiliki siswa sekolah dasar dalam menghadapi tantangan kehidupan nyata. Sayangnya, siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami dan memecahkan masalah matematika. Hal ini menuntut adanya inovasi dalam pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif siswa serta mendorong kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan bantuan media UTATIK (Ular Tangga Matematik) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 54 siswa dari kelas III di SDN 6 Nagrikaler Purwakarta, terbagi ke dalam dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang menerima pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dengan bantuan media UTATIK, dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok, di mana siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan bantuan media UTATIK menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang lebih baik dari pada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model kooperatif tipe Number Heads Together. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan bantuan media UTATIK memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengembangan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Disarankan agar guru dapat mengintegrasikan media edukatif khususnya UTATIK yang menarik dalam pembelajaran guna menciptakan proses belajar yang bermakna. ----- Mathematical problem solving ability is an essential aspect that elementary school students must possess to face real life challenges. Unfortunately, many students still struggle to understand and solve mathematical problems. This situation calls for innovation in learning approaches that can enhance active student engagement and foster their mathematical problem solving skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by UTATIK (Snakes and Ladders Mathematics) media on the mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students. A quasi experimental approach with a nonequivalent control group design was employed. The research subjects consisted of 54 third grade students at SDN 6 Nagrikaler, Purwakarta, divided into two groups: the experimental group, which received instruction using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by UTATIK media, and the control group, which used the cooperative learning model of the Numbered Heads Together type. The results showed a significant difference between the two groups, with students in the Problem Based Learning with UTATIK group demonstrating better improvement in problem solving skills compared to those in the cooperative Numbered Heads Together group. This indicates that the Problem Based Learning model assisted by UTATIK media has a positive and significant impact on the development of students mathematical problem solving abilities. It is recommended that teachers integrate engaging educational media, especially UTATIK, into their lessons to create a more meaningful learning experience.
