Abstract
Dalam pelajaran IPS, penting bagi siswa untuk menguasai pemahaman tentang konsep karena ini dapat membantu dalam memahami isu-isu sosial. Namun, kondisi di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VB masih cukup rendah. Model pembelajaran berbasis proyek atau Project Based Learning dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VB dalam pelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dan dilakukan di kelas VB SDN 1 Munjuljaya, Kabupaten Purwakarta pada Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Penelitian sesuai dengan tahap PTK menurut Kemmis dan McTaggart terdapat 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep serta observasi terhadap aktivitas siswa selama belajar. Untuk mengevaluasi peningkatan aktivitas siswa dilakukan observasi dan untuk melihat hasil belajar pemahaman konsep diberikan tes evaluasi di akhir pembelajaran. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep setelah penerapan model Project Based Learning rata-rata nilai siswa pada siklus I adalah 69,52% dengan kelulusan klasikal mencapai 56%, kemudian meningkat menjadi 80,01% pada siklus II dengan ketuntasan kelas sebesar 88%. Peningkatan juga terlihat pada semua indikator pemahaman konsep berdasarkan Taksonomi Bloom versi Krathwohl pada aspek kognitif dari level C1 hingga C6. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPS serta membantu siswa mengembangkan kemampuan untuk berkolaborasi, berkomunikasi, dan berpikir kritis. ----- In social studies, it is important for students to master the understanding of concepts because it can help in understanding social issues. However, conditions in the field show that the conceptual understanding of class VB students is still quite low. The project based learning model or Project Based Learning can be used to improve the conceptual understanding of class VB students in Natural and IPS lessons. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method and was conducted in class VB SDN 1 Munjuljaya, Purwakarta Regency in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Research in accordance with the PTK stages according to Kemmis and McTaggart has 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection is carried out through tests to measure conceptual understanding and observation of student activities during learning. To evaluate the increase in student activity, observations were conducted and to see the learning outcomes of conceptual understanding, an evaluation test was given at the end of the learning process. The results of the study showed an increase in conceptual understanding after the implementation of the Project Based Learning model, the average student score in cycle I was 69.52% with classical graduation reaching 56%, then increasing to 80.01% in cycle II with class completion of 88%. The increase was also seen in all indicators of conceptual understanding based on Krathwohl version of Bloom Taxonomy in the cognitive aspect from level C1 to C6. These findings prove that the implementation of the Project Based Learning model is effective in improving the understanding of social studies concepts and helping students develop their ability to collaborate, communicate, and critical thinking.
